its been good most of the year? ehhhhhWhat about it?
It's been good most of the year.
It was terrible against GT, especially once Barrow went out.
Mesidor is not a DT, and Cook/Clark are mainly JAGs.
We went through this with Manny and Blake Baker, both of whom rehabilitated their careers.
****, Al Golden is running a top 5 defense.
Keep stacking classes.
If Guidry gets fired, fine.
KEEP STACKING CLASSES.
He is correct mess isn't a dt if we got barrow and his team mate we would be better. No little we have sucked at portal talent acquisition. I'm not fretting because we could be Clemson FSU Florida imagine being a 2 and whatever Mississippi State team without a conference win and doesn't look like they will get onits been good most of the year? ehhhhh
If a defense can't ******* lineup correctly, the coach sucks bags of ****s...it's 80+% coaching
mauigoa is good case study
Talent: Getting roasted when in man coverage. Only thing that fixes that is a faster LB
Coaching: Mauigoa has obvious limitations. He should not be asked to play man D.
Zone could help a lot, but we saw UM attempt a zone D against GT and the result was the CB passing coverage to a safety who was not there. That’s 10000% a coaching issue.
It’s not all about speed. GT mlb isn’t fast but he is well coached and he is disciplined. I didn’t see a ton of super fast guys on gt or anybody that I would say is super talented. They were well coached and did their jobI'm being honest about what I'm seeing on the field. We are SLOW on defense and it's killing us.
How much talent does it take to hold Georgia Tech under 300 yards rushing?Over the years, I've become more of a "Jimmys & Joes" guy.
Obviously, X's & O's are important.
But people were sweating bullets over Guidry going to LSU. Now he can't tie his shoelaces?
Or maybe we lack talent.
"He can't get guys lined up!"
Maybe because they lack experience and/or recognition.
I'm tired of the "hot" coaching names all fizzling out. They go from saviors to idiots in the blink of an eye.
Remember when everybody wanted Garrett Riley?
Just. Keep. Stacking. Talent.
But he's been a DC before.
He was the coordinator at Marshall when they upset Notre Dame.
I won't lose a minute of sleep if they fire Guidry, but this is mainly a talent issue, IMO.
By the way, Notre Dame has a top 5 defense.
Anybody want Godlenz back as DC?
Guidry was never a “hot” coaching name.Over the years, I've become more of a "Jimmys & Joes" guy.

I agree to the first part and Mauigoa is a great example but there is two sides of the coin to playing zone. Coaching is obviously involved but there is 100% an onus on the player to be able to pick up and execute the scheme.mauigoa is good case study

“Is a frogs *** watertight?”No **** and a bullfrog is waterproof!
So then this is Mario’s fault. There’s zero reason for the defense to be this atrocious in year 3. We’re not getting lit up by top tier offenses. We’re getting bludgeoned and embarrassed by below average offenses, 3rd stringers, and QB’s with limp shoulders.Over the years, I've become more of a "Jimmys & Joes" guy.
