Louis Riddick thinks Lance Guidry was out schemed by Georgia Tech

Agreed. The most important part of coaching young athletes IMHO is developing them physically and technically so they can execute routine actions at a very high level and then keep it simple so they can quickly determine what to execute. Too many coaches in all sports at all levels want to show how smart they are and forget about these basic things.
This is what's happened this year.

With our "talent" on D this year we should've been a Tampa 2 defense with an aggressive four man front. We should have never insisted on playing man.

Over the years, I've become more of a "Jimmys & Joes" guy.

Obviously, X's & O's are important.

But people were sweating bullets over Guidry going to LSU. Now he can't tie his shoelaces?

Or maybe we lack talent.

"He can't get guys lined up!"

Maybe because they lack experience and/or recognition.

I'm tired of the "hot" coaching names all fizzling out. They go from saviors to idiots in the blink of an eye.

Remember when everybody wanted Garrett Riley?

Just. Keep. Stacking. Talent.
Yea need a team full of 5 stars to stop duke and gt

If the theory that the safeties last year were freelancing and plugging holes in the scheme is correct then there might be fundamental issues.

Also more film now on what the defense struggles with.

But he's been a DC before.

He was the coordinator at Marshall when they upset Notre Dame.

I won't lose a minute of sleep if they fire Guidry, but this is mainly a talent issue, IMO.

By the way, Notre Dame has a top 5 defense.

Anybody want Godlenz back as DC?

I posted Saturday id take golden back with this offense

explain the DL then

What about it?

It's been good most of the year.

It was terrible against GT, especially once Barrow went out.

Mesidor is not a DT, and Cook/Clark are mainly JAGs.

We went through this with Manny and Blake Baker, both of whom rehabilitated their careers.

****, Al Golden is running a top 5 defense.

Keep stacking classes.

If Guidry gets fired, fine.

KEEP STACKING CLASSES.

Forget the stars and use your eyes: Duke and GT have way more talent than us on D and it isn't close...we are bottom of the barrel in P4 for talent on D. We are slow everywhere and small where it matters most (DT).
This is a complete lie. You can’t name anyone on either of their defenses and most of there guys won’t be playing beyond college. Our guys would start there. Hèll gore couldn’t get on the field here and he was playing for gt

It's not. Duke's dbs were very fast (I watched them in person and was shocked how much faster Duke appeared at skill positions). GT's d-line and secondary were very impressive against us. We look like a Big 10 team.

Who on our D has ANY chance of playing pro? Maybe Bain if he goes on a diet? Maybe Frédérique if he keeps developing and pans out? Maybe Barrow and Mesidor can be backups for a year or two. Beyond that, I don't see any real talent. Baron has regressed and has no physicality/motor. The LBs? LOL. Porter gets burned constantly. #25 was terrible when he was in...#19 is worse. Meesh and #7 are the worst safety tandem I've ever watched play at Miami.

Look at the NFL and there are very few "Pro Canes" who stick around and make a name for themselves these days...no stars that I can see and few difference makers.
