Leonard Taylor committing 8/6

There’s talk they have a spot for Wilson if they decide to take.

Yeah, I've been doing some thinking on this one as well.

You know WHO ELSE also fits the requirements for a blueshirt? A GUY WE NEVER REALLY RECRUITED THE FIRST TIME.

If I'm wrong on this, someone tell me. But did Divaad Wilson ever take a paid official visit to UM? Did Richt ever do an official in-home visit? If not, the kid is not "recruited" for purposes of the NCAA rules.

Thus, if we take him as a blueshirt (immediately), he could count against the 2021-2022 class, as long as he applies to UM, gets in, and pays his up-front deposits (which would be refunded when we put him on scholarship 1 day after the fall camp begins).

I am not ever trying to be a "Debbie Downer" on IC slots. I hope that Manny is the most creative guy since Butch on battling the NCAA rules and regulations. I certainly didn't think we had room for Divaad Wilson, I really didn't remember his recruiting history with UM.

Buuuuut...I think we could make it work. And if that's the case, then we DEFINITELY need to try to tuition remission/blueshirt Jabari Ishmael to keep pushing one IC slot out ANOTHER YEAR.

Mortgage the future...if the kids are worth it.

And Manny better start going to St. Augustine's every day and every night to pray for the NCAA to loosen up the transfer IC rules this year.

This crossed my mind too, we didn’t recruit him , at least I’m pretty sure we didn’t. Hello @Liberty City El. I’m almost positive he never received an offer and this was debated here.

Don’t know if the Divine 9 has frat houses on campus. But I see the creativity.

I love the Divine 9, and I was being a bit sarcastic, but it wouldn't be a horrible thing to see more "integration" in the larger social fraternities. Jimmy Johnson frowned on it, in general (fraternity membership), but it was more common back in the day. Ted Hendricks and Rick Barry are my alumni brothers.

Don’t believe we ever recruited him. Definitely not to the extent visits were made.

Yeah. You and I cruise along, thinking we are on top of this all, and then suddenly we start to see Manny's 3D chess moves.

It was more obvious back in the day, like when Butch figured out that Andre King still had football eligibility remaining. These days the rules are a lot tickier and tackier.

We've gone from "never took a blueshirt" to maybe taking a bunch within a 365-day period.

I respect the hustle.

This is basically **** for recruiting addicts like myself. And I enjoyed every word. Thank you

I was just thinking that 2020 could be a turning point not just for us, but all the college football hierarchy .

Think about the parallels between how the former Confederate states maintained their dominance for 150 years after losing the Civil War, and how the big state universities have dominated college football for 100 years (with over half of those programs being located in the South).

From my knowledge and it's just about what i read on a few recruiting sites Wilson never took an OV here and we did NOT go in home. We didn't really recruit him once Gil was in the fold and he decomitted from gata. LCE would know best though as you know

This **** just might work.

Only ppl getting dropped are curtis and collins. Curtis is a rail thin dude who we are recruiting to play corner when he has barely played it and we already have our small cb this cycle in tim burns at wr we have brashard smith he is just as fast and better at getting open who is most likely coming to us. Curtis spot should go to a true cb. Collins I've covered a bunch of times he just flat out plays with no heart

I mean I get what you’re saying but the same could have been said for any number of the most explosive dudes we’ve ever had, including Parrish and Benjamin. Same would have been said for Isaiah McKenzie. Maybe the issue is that he’s being taken as a corner instead of receiver, but we could use that explosion in the corner room, and it’s not like he’s a smurf...**** be taller than Bandy, who was solid for us.

What about our kicker croot? If he hasn't taken an "OV" nor does Manny do an in home would that count for "not recruited" if he has taken unofficial visits? I know it's a risk with the UNC smoke, but maybe he can be talked into blueshirt as well.

There comes a point where people say enough.

I agree. I'm a big student of history. It crushes me to think that it took the Holocaust for many people in the world to START to consider being less anti-Semitic. It's heartbreaking to think that it took over 150 years since the Civil War was won for people to examine the concept that Blacks are still not treated fairly and equally by all Americans.

But when the momentum changes and progress is made, it's a beautiful thing.
