I would too. That’s cause James knows zero about football. I’m just not sure the nfl experience translates to college. I really don’t know. Schnelly certainly worked out.

As long as this keeps Blake away from the football program then its great news. I know you can be blasted for saying anything positive but Blake does a good job fundraising for Miami so the BOT isn't getting rid of him. Now if we can just get a football guy overseeing the football program then its good.

That’s all political talk! Means nothing! Just like a coach saying he supports his OC and then fires him the next day or an AD saying he supports the HC and fires him the next day. That’s just PC speech so Mandy can save some face. Alonzo will be mannys boss if he takes the job and you can take that to the bank sir!

Well would you rather have Blake James or Highsmith overseeing the program?

Seems like a pretty easy call to me. Just getting Flake away from football decision-making would be the best move the school has made since hiring Butch

if things don’t improve, he now has a scapegoat because the blame shifts away from him

I have faith that highsmith will get this thing back in the right direction though

If this happen would Alonzo have anyone that he would want as OC? You would think that would have to be his first hire and it would have to be someone they could get hired rather quickly

This would be the best thing to happen to Miami football in a very long time. A competent leader with legit expectations. And Alonzo has been around every good program in America for years. He knows what it looks like. He also gives the program credibility with the south Florida football community that we desperately lack. The significance of this can’t be overstated. It’s a huge deal.

Probably more about finances. It costs a lot to keep buying out contracts when chit goes south.
