Lane Kiffin

I’m watching this Miss/A&M game… Everybody clamoring over Mario. We need Kiffin. This dude has figured it out. I’d give my left and right nut for Kiffin to come to Miami. Somebody make this happen
Let’s get Brian White from FAU as AD. His connection to Kiffin could bring him to UM. Also, White’s pretty good himself, so’s his brother Danny of UCF and Tenn. AD jobs. Could do worse, actually we have.

Same thing they got fooled with Manny with....RJ Mac and G3 made his defenses look really good. He was animated and had the chain and road it to fool the eyes of the admin (which isn't hard to do). Has a good QB and is doing dirt....don't know how Ole Miss is recruiting under him but I'm sure it's basic af types. And that won't get it don't here. If he was coming as O Cord I would be super ok with that but to lead young men? Nah no thanks.
So whoever he's coaching and recruiting is good enough to be 8-2 in his second year in the SEC West but not good enough to win here? Ok. Sure. And for all the he's got Matt Corral stuff, Tyler Van Dyke is a better player 6 starts into his career than Corral was. So he'd have good QB here too

so we need a guy who was fired at his other P5 jobs and just fell into a situation where the QB is probably a first round pick this year? Have you all learned nothing?
I'm not a Lane Kiffin fan, but he was not fired at Tennessee, only at USC and that may have been a big mistake by USC. Mike Garrett, the USC AD was old school and Lane is anything but. Then Mike Garrett was fired and Pat Haden was the new AD that fired Lane on the tarmac at LAX after a big loss in 2013. Lane was also a terrible play caller during the 2012 season, but has clearly improved over the past 10 years. He is not the second coming of JJ, but he would be better than Manny and is an aggressive recruiter. If Lane was hired by UM and the result was 2-3 ACC titles over 5 years, the NCAA won't be far behind. So whatever happens, UM is going to be job full of turmoil for years.

Ok so what about the defense? Also what about when he was given plenty of HC roles and failed....I think these are legitimate things to ask cause these are the things I think of. How is his recruiting as well

We’d be putting up 50 a game and have our at will scoring nuclear power back.
Really the biggest reason he would be my pick. I think all the names being thrown around are 9-3 or 10-2 type coaches at best. His offense against the ACC defenses, would make that 9-3 into 11-1 in my opinion. None of the other guys have that extra gear on one side of the ball that can carry them. I would gladly take Mario, Stoops, Aranda, many others, just think Kiffin with his offensive acumen has that over the other possible candidates.

His defense doesn't look as bad as ours. We couldn't stop the Noles but they shut down A&M most of that game.

The cloud bro.
They were at full scholarships in 2010 and 2011 with loaded teams. In 2012 and 2013 they were 10 scholarships short and a team cap of 75 (scholarship and walk-on players). In 2012 they were #13 and in 2013 #14 in Recruiting Class Rankings. They didn't really feel the impact until 2014 and 2015, bro.

So

Lane - ncaa problem concerns
Freeze - actual ncaa question marks
Mario - Bama and Oregon squeaky clean?

Why do I find that really hard to believe?

And I’ve read for Mario we need a creative OC and DC, but for the other two just a good DC…

Seems a bit off

My original point in this thread was the guy was given things to easily when he was young , but got humbled. Then worked his way back from Fau then to Ole Miss. With a stop under Saban. He deserved to get fired at usc but there was definitely some effect even with ten scholarships and people knew they were getting slammed by the ncaa. There’s no way to know exactly when they felt it. It’s semantics at this point. I just think he’s at the top of his game after everything. I still want Mario first.

SWFL seems to think this is a moot point because he never would be considered. Do you have the same opinion?

I think with NIL he could make things work without worrying about sanctions
