Hard not to like his positivity and confidence. Really hope he can get it figured out and saves the season.
I'm pretty sure slot WR is going to be his $$$ position. If Restrepo would've played DB coming in, we'd be raving about him being one of our best DBs ever, imo. Hybrid CB/S would've been his $$$ position, like our version of the honey badger.
Exactly.I think this is getting sort of kind of somewhat lost here. There is *something* to work with here, and beyond just the DL too. I feel like a key scheme change and one or two personnel changes and this defense could look totally different. It's not going to be a top 5 or even top 10 defense in the country this year but we probably don't need it to be. Just need it to not totally suck.
We know that. Just saying he is just that good.I'm pretty sure slot WR is going to be his $$$ position.
Appears we are who we are at this point. Would love to see a magical transformation but it’s not realistic. Maybe we can focus on a bend but don’t break philosophy or taking the ball away but we are going to give up tons of yards, and points.
But if the players keep doing it you have to start looking at the coaches. Our players are playing zone coverage without looking at the QB. We do a lot of head scratching stuff on D. Like lining up no defensive lineman in front of the center and guard, or consistently playing with only one DT when he is not the kind of DT that eats up space.I don’t think it is what Guidry is coaching as much as the players making bad decisions
**** simplify the DLine too. No reason to be stunting unless its an obvious passing situation.Simplify the back end & let your dline play freely. They are your strength by miles.
Venables hates Miami. Never happeningReplace Guidry with Venables when he gets canned by OU
