Richard and Hill aren’t much better. Arguably, worse. We were a Damari injury away from a nightmare scenario and here we are.

This isn't the tone you had prior but I'm happy being 7-0 and don't want to get sidetracked here. I agree we need to acquire talent.

What have I ever said different? I said all the way from last season I was terrified about safety and I was hoping our line would get off enough to allow our safeties time to mature. I conceded that I wasn't as worried about corner (and that's because in the off-season I knew Richard's wasn't starting. As much as we all may complain about linebacker play in some aspects, it is ten times better than anything in the recent history outside of last season. If I came across any way but that when it relates to this season then my bad. I did a **** job of emphasizing my concerns. Cause that's always been my only real concern.

If the reports were true, Miami had the 3rd highest NIL available, somewhere in the 15-18 million range. Cam Ward , Sam brown, and Damien Martinez did not use up all 18 million. I am glad UM got Sam Brown and Damien Martinez to help Ward , but we were actually fairly decent at their respective positions. RB and WR were luxuries (we actually had a pretty good WR/RB already on the roster in Brashard Smith, who is doing extremely well at SMU now). We instead needed massive upgrades at DB (and I think LB as well). Truth be told, up until last week, fans said Brown and Martinez were busts.

Nearly everyone on this site said UM needed to address the DB position in the portal during the offseason. We barely did anything. Guidry and Cristobal apparently thought the roster was good enough. Cristobal couldn’t beat Lane Kiffin for Trey Amos? If going after Oregon State players, why not try to bring Jermod McCoy over? How does he end up at Tennessee when we have a huge need? The coaches didn’t prioritize improving the DB talent, and now we have one of the worst defenses in the ACC. Why should the coaches get let off the hook for this?
 
BUMP!!! He still sucks, this defense is unbecoming of Miami, it's actually disgusting to watch, he needs to be fired. The tackling has regressed horribly, our players are slow, undisciplined and lazy. It's gross. If you want to argue it's because we lack talent, then you're retarded because that means he blows as a recruiter and evaluator and still needs to be fired.

If your DL stunts 90% of the time is it even effective since it’s not confusing OL at all anymore and just opening lanes up for QBs to get through

FSU offense is ******* horrible. Giving up 14 points is an embarrassment with Luke/Brock at the helm. That's how we know we suck on D. D-line is not getting home. This should have been as easy shutout.

Not sure who is to blame, but this D is meh to bad.
 
The Canes defense isn’t that good. I see some signs of improvement from last week, but still a long way to go. Guidry still has another 4 weeks before the ACC Championship game. We need to see more improvement. I hope Bissante is ok

In fairness, to be overrated, like many say Guidry is, you need to beat up on the 1 win teams, so everyone gets amp, and then you choke against toucher class competition.

Guidry needs to call a good game against a quality O for him to lose the overrated label.
