Kelvin Cain kinda sorta no longer on the team ????

its too bad that we are wasting this OL with sub par skill players and a ****** defense.

by the time we get the other **** fixed the OL will be completely turned over.

Guys I would like to see hit the bricks:

Robinson
Wells
White
Perry
Cleveland
Thompson

then we lose 11 seniors, which would bring us down to 62 scholarship players - 18 to get to 80, 23 to get to 85

David Thompson?

Cleveland, I would give him one more year.

The thing with Thompson is that we'll have 6 scholarship QBs next year. That's too many when you are facing sanctions. Since Thompson has an injury and will split time between football and baseball, it makes perfect sense for him to move on. Plus we'll have Olsen and Dewey as our young QBs.

I agree on the logic (6 is too much with or without sanctions) but let's see if he ever steps on the field. I don't think it matters at the moment, he isn't on FOOTBALL scholarship now.

Something tells me one of them may transfer (Crow) soon.

He is on football scholarship now.

I know he is on the roster but so is Chad Barnes (walk-on). I just didn't think he was on "Scholarship" at this moment.

Why is everyone so down on Hunter Wells? I have no idea if he is good or not. But he certainly is young and has not seen the field yet. Do we have enough data to say he sucks?

I am very hesitant to kick a kid out of the program before his third season IF he is (1) not a cancer, (2) competes and (3) works his *** off.

I have no idea about Hunter Wells and the above.

He was recruited by the football coaches, meaning he can't be on a baseball scholarship. He is on a football scholarship.

Our back up DEs are now 220lb True Fr McCord and true Fr Hamilton. We have been on self-imposed sanctions for many years now.

"One UM upperclassman called me on Wednesday afternoon – first time that’s happened since I’ve been on this beat – voicing a similar complaint. The player did not want to be named, fearing that going public would subject him to recriminations from the coaching staff. But the player said that several of his teammates feel like they are seeing their game action reduced or taken away completely based primarily on their connection with the former staff."

I wonder which bum it was

Could be Telemaque. I know he told ITU that he should have left with the rest of the Juniors after last year LOL

Hearing Kelvin Cain may have been booted off team, not quit. Can't ask Al Golden until this weekend.

Guess they don't watch film. Kids will make any excuse not to face the reality. When asked, "Why aren't you playing more?", the easy answer is "coach doesn't like me". The tough answer is "I am not good enough or someone else is better". Happens at all levels of sports.

My guess on the player that called is VT

Me thinks Golden needs to tell the Shannon bums to kick rocks.

If they wanna speak out to the media like this, then goodbye.

If Jorge story is true, can you imagine Ray lewis calling a news reporter complaining about playing time when he was in college?? Oh I'm sorry he probably had better things to do like work out or watch some film, what a thought

Well if Kacy Rodgers was playing over me, I would have to believe that it was political and not because he was better. lol

It is getting crunch time during this season...and if you are a fourth year junior or senior level player and you still ain't playing much better than a first or second year player...I got no qualms with Golden playing the youngster more. It really is simple common sense.

It is funny...because, Mike James is still our starting running back. Davon Johnson has gotten more opportunity (and capitalized on it) this year than he did in his previous four years combined. Ben Jones had risen to a starting level before he was injured. The entire starting offensive line is Shannon-recruited. Kacy Rodgers, as bad as he is, plays all of the time. Despite a solid group of youngsters (Perryman, Johnson, Paul) Tyrone Cornelius and Jimmy Gaines see significant snaps at linebacker despite notbeing that good.

Perhaps these particular Shannon-recruits just suck.

What a disgusting cop out. If connection with former staff was the reason , then all players with connection with former staff would have their playing time reduced. Failing that, you have to look for some other reason. Maybe it's that you are a senior and you aren't so much better than the freshman. In that case, I would play the freshman as the experience he will gain is worth more to the program than the senior just playing out the string. Some of these guys need a serious reality check.

It is funny...Kacy Rodgers is a Shannon guy, too. So, that boy who is complaining ain't make no cot **** sense.
