Brady in 2001 was nothing more than a game manager . They won with defense . I get it you’re a dolphins fan but the man has 8 super bowls and some of the best defenses ever. On top of that he drafted and developed Brady as a sixth rounder that all the league didn’t want. The Pat’s in 01 could’ve won a Super Bowl with Dilfer. Just look what BB did to the greatest show on turf . Then go look what he did to the 91 bills K gun offense. Two of the greatest defense game plans ever. Btw Brady was 18 to 12 td to int ratio lol. He was Dilferesque.
The game passed BB. I don't think a 20 yr old girlfriend and a washed up college HC job will bring him back

Belichick went 14-6 in games Brady was hurt/ suspended. Those teams were awesome around him

Also changed how defense was played with his match zone principles..People get caught up in narratives
And leave mountains of context out. Like the Bledsoe record with BB but they leave out the Pat’s going to the SB in 96 and guess who was the brains of that defense ? The associate head coach Bill Belichik . Now guess who the qb was? Drew Bledsoe. On top of that Bledsoe went on to throw for 4300 yards in Buffalo in 02 but no way he could've won stats a SB in 01 with that great defense lol. No way he could’ve put up those monster numbers of 18 and 12 by Brady. Find me a great dynasty without a great player and you’ll show me zero dynasties. It already makes me sick defending the Pat’s so I’ll stop now.

I agree with this. I mean who doesn’t lose their fast ball in their 60’s and 70’s ? Maybe except Nolan Ryan lol.

Funny thing I got to see Nolan here locally in the late 80's coming back from injury in minor leagues. I've never seen a fastball like that in person

Nah man. He's ready to take the ACC by storm at UNC.

Yep man i grew up hating the patriots, having to say positive things about belichick makes me cringe lol

And also its funny people say he lost his fast ball, he had an elite defense still when brady left lmao up to last year i think he had a top5 defense . Thats why i keep saying its belichick the gm that got him in trouble, the constant bad drafts of skill players on offense left them with the worst situation in the league for a qb.

I think BB is as smart as ever. I just think he’s a control freak and having your hands in everything is impossible at his age . It’s taxing to work those hours while going on from coaching , evaluating , drafting and building your team. He’s going to have to delegate responsibilities in UNC or that’ll end badly too.

Excuse me for a moment…just want to go on record as saying I’m not a huge KC fan. Prefer more polished receivers many of whom are already off the board.

Carry on.

The year Brady was hurt they missed the playoffs. The Wildcat Dolphins won the AFC East.

Matt Cassell, his QB that year, later made the playoffs with the Chiefs.
The Pats in 2008 went 11-5 with their backup, it’s the only time in history an 11 win team didn’t make the playoffs since they expanded to 6 seeds per conference. This is disingenuous af D$. Do better

I agree. Mike Lombardi is not that guy though so I don’t think this will end up working.

They won 11 because the AFC East was matched against a terrible NFC West in the schedule. The AFC East as a whole went 38-26.

Belichick got embarrassed by the Wildcat that year and missed the playoffs.

Their backup QB (Cassell) subsequently made the playoffs when he left Belichick.

If embarrassment to a coach is an 11-5 record in the NFL, that’s a **** good football coach. Ask anyone north of West Palm who the best coach of all time is and there will be a resounding answer that you won’t like

Off topic: I was thinking about this today. You cursed the canes when you predicted GT gettting that first down on that 3rd and 17.
It was as sure to happen as the sun rising in the east. Our defense was buns for most of this season, and when you can’t cover anyone and can’t sack the QB consistently, such results are predictable. Plus the GT coach routinely makes the meathead his byotch, so no surprise that we lost to them again.
