Been a week, checking back in on this situation...

So who developed him into a top 10 pick? Was he a 5 star QB coming out of High school? Nope. IIRC, he was a mid 3 star kid (85) How many different OCs did he have at UO? Head Coaches? If I can come from a 3 star to a top 10 NFL pick, I’d like to think that I was developed properly. He had some nice numbers at UO…. but Don’t totally look at his NFL numbers in comparison with his college numbers as proof that he wasn’t developed. It’s a much different league. It’s apparent to me that there was some coaching going on at Oregon.
He was misevaluated as a 3 star because he was coming out of the state of oregon.

He was drafted high because he was 6'5-6'6 230+ with a big arm an ran sub 4.7 40. He was the most physically gifted qb in the draft.

I wonder if Bethune Cookman is secretly meeting with Josh Gattis?

Six degrees of separation approach. LoL

The fan base has been tainted by the “homeboy” hire including myself. Golden/No D, Richt/Baby Richt and Manny/The whole defense of staff. It to similar to the previous failed stuffs.

It has been said that Miami has the money, so why not try to hire the best out there? I don’t think it’s wrong that the fans want that.

I don’t know if Arroyo is good or not but to wait this long just to hire him(I know there are other factors playing into long wait of Gattis being release) would be disappointing.

I'm not against spending the money.

But, again, spending money isn't the magic bullet. We could have outspent Clemson.

Yost coached Herbert his Frosh yr at Oregon, and I just read an article where Herbert credits Yost with alot. Same with Jordan Love when Yost coached him his Frosh, and Soph seasons at Utah St.

While Herbert didn't play a full season as a freshman, I'm still willing to consider Yost. After all, he was a Broyles Semi-finalist in 2018...

He wouldn't even have to buy a new house, right?

Their offense isn’t complex. They just have an elite OL and elite skill players that makes it work.

That’s simply not true.

Monken consistently schemes up via numbers and spacing an advantage for his offense. Having elite OL certainly helps, but the Georgia WRs weren’t Bama or Ohio st level

this film break down does an excellent job of illustrating that

All of what you said is true….my point is that some development did take place at UO. Whether he was misevaluated or not. He had a helluva last year there. Better than his previous year… so he got better. Some credit should be given to whoever his HC/OC/QBC was. He wasn’t a readymade Pro QB. He has since shown that he was worth the high pick.

Can you roll in some funds for me to get a Ukrainian wife from the CIS ad? I’ll send you her feet pics as a thank you
It's only a fair reimbursement given your tax contributions.

I’m sure he could rent out his current home and upgrade to a newer, bigger crib.

Any insight on what happy with Riley? Did Miami ever have a real shot?

I know for a fact dialogue was had.

I’m making an educated guess Miami wasn’t in a position to bring him on board as expeditiously as Riley would like, due to the Gattis situation, and Clemson swooped in and made a deal happen

From what I've heard (do we need to caveat everything these days?) is that there was some outreach, but he was good with Clemson.

Define "real shot". Who knows? If Dabo was willing to give Streeter another year, very possibly. Riley was a Coaching Convention hire about 350 days earlier, he had no real ties to TCU and was willing to parlay that into something with a bit more autonomy.

But the "Riley would never come to UM" bros were just spouting generalities.
