He had Justin Herbert all 3 years.
Lol. You're probably right.A lot of people that don't watch football?
My friend I believed Herbert sucked. I thought he'd belly flop in the league.I am begging yall to actually watch the games instead of just throwing out stats you googled, do that after u watched the games to back up what you saw. Not the other way around.
I'll bet the holdup is that Gattis did one of those slip and fall scams inside the Hecht when he heard he was going to be fired

And your excuse for 2018 is….Yeah, and that 2017 statistic might, juuust miiiiight, be impacted by the fact that Herbert missed 5 games, of which Oregon lost 4 of them.
Maybe that 2017 number is higher if he had Herbert for ALL of that year.
Herbert had great numbers all 3 years, and the team got better every year. Yeah, but we should be focused on an awful 2016 team that went 4-8 team with a great offense and a terrible defense.
Again, the coaches' jobs are to win games, not to maximize one player's draft position or stats.
I can't believe anyone would argue for "the #9 offense" and a 4-8 team over "the #19 offense" and a 12-2 team.

actually, we should start one for his buyout ONLY to bring attention to the matterI'm thinking of starting a GoFundMe. Not for Gattis, for myself.

Or the fact Taggert called the plays in 2017.
Many on this board will not accept with anything less than an Air Raid guru.Lol. You're probably right.
But what I was intending with my original point got twisted inside-out.
There simply aren't many that consider his offense 'innovative' in the way they think of Kiffin or Kliff or Mullen or 'Insert-Air-Raid / 'Power-Spread' / 'Flavor of the Month' -name-here'. There's even fewer on this board who would have thought hiring 2020 Monken differently than they think of a 'typical, Mario, ball-control offense'.
Realistically: Do you think if the Todd Monken resume of 2020 (the one that Kirby hired) showed up on CIS as the leading replacement for Josh Gattis, would this board have been thrilled?
I contend there would have been a meltdown. 70% of CIS would have said, "hard pass" or "we could do so much better with the budget we have" (and throw out a bunch of 'sexier' OC names). 2020 Todd Monken would have been dragged on this board and Mario would have been raked through the coals. And yet - that offense and that coordinator just won 2 Championships.
Me? I'd be THRILLED with Kliff or Mullen or Candle or Ruggiero or any of many names that get tossed around here. I want a fun and exciting offense to watch. This is entertainment, after all. But I'm also not so easy to dismiss some of the names that get 'automatically kicked to the curb' just because they're 'vanilla'.
Monken is available? Give me a Monken. The Georgia offense DOMINATES the line of scrimmage and in doing so, takes what the defense gives them (reminds me of a modern day version of the Dorsey-era Canes) without fear or impunity. It is Machiavellian. But it is also very simple. And that was my point.

I have to laugh at the obsession many CIS members have insisting Herbert was awful in college, horribly coached. His success is the NFL has nothing to do with Mario and the staff at Oregon. How could it be? He only threw for 6,600 yards and a 61-14 TD-INT ratio his JR/SR years.Yeah, and that 2017 statistic might, juuust miiiiight, be impacted by the fact that Herbert missed 5 games, of which Oregon lost 4 of them.
