Dare to add we hired a head coach to an 8 year contract w/ a program history of swing and misses re: coaches?

I used to have a coworker who would tell people (jokingly) that they "bring mediocrity to new heights." We don't even do that. Absolute futility. Incredible that the head of Greenberg Traurig has been on our board and chaired it, and we still have issues with basic contract language.

Yeah, I'm really hoping and praying that Mario is the answer. I know a lot of people were high on him because of his recruiting and still are. That area is definitely better no doubt, but Ruiz backing also helps. However, we were ******* terrible last year and some of his gameday decision were pretty boneheaded. In addition, the way he's handling his assistant coaching hiring process is unexplainable and head scratching. I believe he cost us a few guys last recruiting class because he took so long to replace BMac and we end up with Gattis after signing day. This year same **** with recruiting and the transfer portal with Gattis status being unclear.

Being a former DB, he probably reverted mentally to stopping scoring....

You have to be a really bad OC to get to this level of ineptitude... and Mario stood around watching.

Truly an incredible run of incompetence and should be a case study for how not to run a university athletics program. Only hope that I have is that we are due for a ******* break to go our way lol.

They could have been working on it for awhile and it is just now coming to forefront as Gattis as come to the end of the road in terms of finding a new job meaning it has to get sorted out sooner rather than later.

Are we still going through something that is fairly common in college football or are we now moving toward the unique, only at Miami side of things?
