That's false. Maryland standards and our standard are different but it was 28.2 PPG. Here's Maryland PPG since 2011

2022 28.2 Enos
2021 29.3 Enos
2020 23.6 Enos 1st year covid
2019 25.2
2018 28.5
2017 24.1
2016 25.8
2015 24.4
2014 28.4
2013 26.2
2012 20.2
2011 23.1
Idk what website you’re using but ESPN has completely different numbers, and Enos wasn’t there in 2020, he went to Cincinnati first after leaving us

The whole thing is strange.

From Michigan's angle - why would you give multiple years to a guy you had to "reassign" different duties to? Maybe winning the Broyles Award got Gattis some extension and/or guarantee from the AD?

From Miami's angle - Mario has only had ONE coordinator at FIU/Oregon go longer than 2 years, so it seems ridiculous to give any assistant/coordinator a contract for longer than 2. So if the REAL math on Gattis is "1.8 million for this year, plus whatever is owed from Michigan", it just makes the number bigger, but not impossible.

If this really IS Gattis posturing with "I'll sit out for a year to get all my money", then I'd love to see Dan just fire Gattis for cause (Michigan scandal) and let Gattis hire the same lawyer that Golden used to get HIS full buyout.
i believe gattis got a 1 year extension either before 2021 season or right after going into 2022.

maybe we got rid of ponce to make room for DVD

and gattis is staying and taking on both WR and QB's

I think Mario got used to that staring into space offense and has taken that same route in hiring except he’s turned the 28-30 seconds into days and weeks…

I can see Mario sitting in his office now staring out the window trying to figure out when he should call a time out and actually do something…..

Question is and I know you can't answer it....but is Mario wanting all that to resolve itself before starting the hiring process or is that process well on the way.
Normally I would think that it's well on the way but I'm not sure with his this time line to do things.

All of this but for someone like me that was all in on Mario a year ago, absolutely nothing outside of recruiting has been even halfway good

So to recap:

1. Gattis gone
2. Waiting on some buyout/contract issue to be worked out
3. Gattis gone either way
4. New OC to be hired once aforementioned $$ issue gets resolved
5. Gattis indeed gone

Am I close?
You are very close. The core issue is that Gattis (after last year's debacle) can't get a decent OC job making 1/2 of the$ he got here. He is either going to be a WR coach and we make up difference in salary, or decides to simply be an analyst somewhere and we pay him whole salary. Complicated but eventually solvable.

There’s no quick fix for this offense. Gattis got mich to the playoffs and I don’t think Mario has any immediate plans to replace him imo. I’m pretty sure we all want to see an offense like our NC teams. This obviously is not Mario’s plan. To me it’s about winning. I realize that a lot here it’s more important “how” we win.

If this guy is playing around with Miami's money, then fine it's Harsin time.

I heard Gattis had an inappropriate relationship with a intern/staffer/student or German Shepard and will be dismissed for cause. Many people are saying.

Apparently he wasn’t the reason on offense for getting them into the playoffs as Weiss and another guy were mentioned.

The damage of not bringing in a new OC is going to outweigh his salary. It’s already set us back. We couldn’t land a top qb or an outside wr.
Agree it has cost us, but not so much on the QB side of things. We did have one of the top QB recruits committed and only lost him late in the process because the gators made him an unreal (literally) offer that he and his people stupidly decided to drop us for without considering how legit the offer might be. Even while he was committed we still had a second QB commit of a solid recruit who had other offers and could have gone where he would have been their primary QB recruit.
