Tierney would be an intriguing hire. Has worked under some good offensive minds.
Anybody that can turn Daniel Jones into a serviceable QB with the lack of talent they have at WR is intriguing to me as well. Shows me the guy knows how to work with QBs. He can leave the ace recruiting to Mario and the boys.

Who y’all want boys?
Mullen, Briles, Monken, Ludwig, Ruggiero?
Out of that list I think Ludwig would be the most likely. I would hope Mullen would be #2

I would love Ruggiero if we could bring over Kevin Higgins too. Their resumes are strong, do more with less, and already have good recruiting and evaluation skills

Now, most on the board would say that Mario wouldn’t go for that type of offensive scheme. However I firmly believe that the motion that Mario, come **** or high water, only wants a pro style smash mouth scheme. I believe he’s more neutral. But we shall see when the new guy is brought in

I was a big advocate for kendal briles last offseason, we would have been way better off with him but I feel like that ship has sailed as he seems TCU bound

Honestly anyone with high level / successful EXPERIENCE is who I want. Mario can't take a chance on an up and comer at this point and I don't want him to. get someone who's done it at the highest level and someone who we know what we're getting in

Tierney seems like a high risk high reward option.

You’re putting a lot of your hopes on a guy that is in his first year of being an actual position coach at any level. You’d have to be ULTRA confident this is THE guy.

Another bad season next year would really put Mario in a tough spot. Not saying I’m against the hire but holy crap would it really be a ballsy move.

Going with a little less splashy name here: Kevin Johns, Duke.

I try not to live in the past or within hypotheticals, but do you realize where the rebuild under Mario would be right now had he hired Kevin Johns vs Josh Gattis

The Josh Gattis debacle was worse than anyone could have dreamt

You do know people on staff ( minus the guys leaving ) didn’t even know what was going on of late right? There’s a reason nobody knew much of anything with last years search. Stuff like this is kept between a couple people.
If I understood your other post correctly you were saying you bet guys like Bryant already know who the OC will be. If that’s the case then that info is being shared with more than a couple of people and would certainly leak out.

This makes total sense. I suspect Mario likes to handle things like a pro and not air people’s dirty laundry even with their peers.

Makes sense as well because this industry is all about connections. Coaches interact all the time. Never burn a bridge unless you absolutely have to.

Monken me please! But that ain’t happening. You are talking about Todd right? Got to think he gets a. HC job soon. Without him, i do not think UGA becomes what they have become.

Briles probably going to TCU, unless you’re talking older Briles…last time I saw him was when I was studying abroad in Florence, Italy…dude was getting trashed at one of the American bars watching football. Think he was overseeing some football developmental program there.
You think Briles leaves Arky for TCU? I know he has ties but that seems like a demotion.

I think Briles is better suited at TCU, he’d have more offensive success and won’t have Pittman breathing down his neck in terms of implementing certain schematic packages. Pittman is like Mario and loves to run the ball. Dykes provides a bit more creativity in the passing game, and gun to head I would imagine that’s more tantalizing to coach under. Plus he just got Riley a gig at Clemson with a fat salary.

Also the perfect time to leave Arky because their QB room is bleh.
