Ped State getting our throwaways now? I like it... They're donating directly to us by hiring our fired guys.. hopefully they overpay for them too.

I can see it now..
Gattis and Manny comforting each other while gossipping like little school girls against Miami/Mario.
They tried to save us also from Golden back in the days

Maybe he sees roster transformation as his biggest need. Doesn't really matter who he hires as coach if your roster is chicken **** vs chicken salad.

That’s very close to saying he doesn’t think the coaching or game day philosophy is the problem…

Which will actually be THE problem…

IMO roster is top need. Followed by adjustments to the staff. You can have whatever staff you want, but if your players are not up to par with Top 10 teams, then welcome to TCU at National Championship game. No thanks. I am a patient person in this age of microwave reactions. Change is coming, soon, at the coaching staff level. Just be patient.

if that’s his legitimate answer, I’ll repeat (as I’ve said all season on the being ‘tough’ while weaving in an offense that works with the players you have) that he can and should know that CEOs in all walks of life (including in the form of coaches) are able to do two (sometimes more) things at once. Are you saying he has to only choose one thing at a time? We’re no longer short on financial resources.

Who controls that we have Gattis or no known WR coach?

Who has an offensive offensive reputation?

Who may be striking out looking for a new OC as much as they are delicately planning their top choice?

Mario.
He might be targeting the post-spring portal window. Also, if he sees this as a multi year rebuild, he won't have the sense of urgency that we do.

But yes, he could be failing at every one of these things. I'm guessing we'll know by August or so.

I will add that they are also related. In other words, even if roster management/talent acquisition is most important, that priority is being HAMPERED by lack of clarity on the OC and offensive philosophy moving forward. I asked Cribby about Mario’s approach on this and “stubbornness” is the best reason we could come up with.

At first I thought there would no chance with Mullen because he's a cornball and by all accounts not a great recruiter so I figured no shot Mario would want his non recruiting *** on the staff. But now seeing how Gattis has been completely asleep at the wheel as a recruiter, I don't think Mario would care about Mullens lack of recruiting ability especially considering the fact that at the very least Mullen can actually coach.
If Urban Liar can deal with Mullen’s lack of recruiting skills. I’m sure Mario can deal with it.

Actually, @Cane6 faith wavered a bit in the last days as he joined the dark side of the mope lol

Wrong. I never wavered on Gattis being out

Mario’s handling of the Fattis separation process and with how the first 13 months under the Mario regime turned out…. With top 5 resources getting injected

That’s why I’m team mope

Our roster is good enough to get us to 9-3/10-2 and the ACC championship game.

Coaching is where we are deficient there.

Roster will need some major upgrades to get us over the hump of beating a Clemson in the ACCCG and then looking like we deserve to be on the field with top 5 programs regularly.

At some point who really cares who the OC or who the Wr coach is. Hire a OC for a million and then take the other million and wave it in front of Scott Cochran's face. Tell him Uncle Ruiz and Mas will build him whatever he wants. I understand Kirby and Saban are elite, but the man is a common denominator in 8 Nattys.

What do you mean man “he’s not going anywhere” 🙄
Lol right, as frustrated as everyone is about the timeline (including me last 2-3 days), this dude isn’t a moron. But to most on this board, a slow timeline = refusal to make changes. That can’t be further from the truth. Anyone that doubted changes to the staff (which were brought up back in November by multiple people) is a buffoon.

I’ll go in record to say Tierney would be a home run hire imo. Super intrigued there.

It'll be another week at least if he's the one.

Again, for the 50th time, how do you know what Mario is telling offensive recruits? I agree with your statement on the surface. But YOU and the public think Gattis is hanging around and it’s costing us recruits. You really think Mario is bringing in offensive recruits and they’re just not talking about the offense? They just walk around campus and talk about the weather? Come on.

Obviously they are talking about the offense. But is Mario really telling the recruits/portal kids “Hey our offense epically sucked this year and I’m making a change but don’t tell Gattis or anyone else yet we want him to find a job before it’s public because his feelings are important”?

Regardless of what’s being said to potential recruits/transfers at the WR position, it isn’t working to this point 6-7 weeks after the season ended and we’ve whiffed on every single WR target. That process should absolutely be criticized as we hope and pray a 2nd portal wave provides more targets.

Tierney is super interesting.

Worked with Tom O’Brien at NC State…worked at Bama as an analyst…with Dorsey at Buffalo…with Daboll at NY.

He’s a workaholic (first guy in, last guy to leave) so mario will love that.

Keep an eye on this one.

I'm also intrigued but I know precious little about him as a potential OC. Could you expand on why you think he'd be a home rub?
