Mario doesn’t care about winning in the present, that’s why he can’t get elite talent in the Portal. He can recruit HS kids because he sells the future of the program and not the present. He knows he’s not getting fired anytime soon, and is really brainwashing people that this is a 5+ year rebuild to mask his coaching decencies. Gattis ain’t getting fired because Mario can blame it on the Roster again.

In regards to Nike money at Oregon, it’s kind of important to have the financial backing if you’re going to recruit highly. Our recruiting budget at Miami is the biggest it’s ever been and we have boosters throwing out NIL money like candy. That’s not a knock against Mario, it’s just a fact that you need money to get the job done. Nobody is pulling a top 5 class at a school without a huge recruiting budget.

Boosters, plural? Sure hope so. Wonder what percentage of NIL $$ involving our program come from Mr. Ruiz?

I’m saying Briles was a top choice for Mario and when Feldman or one of the other reported that he had interviewed and had been offered the OC job here, and was leaning toward accepting, he used it as a way to get a raise from Arkansas and then blasted Feldman and said he had never even interviewed. Which Feldman stood his ground and said he knew he interviewed. Y’all aren’t on twitter?
