So It Begins Helms Deep GIF by Giphy QA
Lol. I’m trying to get educated on Arroyo beyond the rankings I find online from his OC days.

Pretty clear Mario suffers from this. When it comes to putting a staff together or how the offense has to “check with me” 5 times to try and get the perfect play call, nothing is deliberate or with any urgency.
Yup, sometimes you just have to make a decision with all of the available information and "just send it". Just like coaching searches it's almost like he needs to hire a headhunting firm to find him an OC

The good news is that he doesn't have to make the "perfect hire". I'm not sure he could put a worse product out there led by Gattis, so **** near anyone will be a big upgrade. I'm fairly certain there are OC's at the high school level that could have schemed the O better than Gattis.

I know one fired P5 HC who’s a pretty good offensive mind that is still available…
He’s the best possible option (including Riley). If you somehow convince him to take this job, that would change everything. We obviously won’t though.

If Cristobal hired Mullen, it would top Riley. But Mullen isn't coaching a NFL team so there isn't any plausible reason why it hasn't happened, if it was going to happen.
Only reason is if there’s a timeline on his buyout so he doesn’t have to give back any money to UF, which I would somewhat get onboard with, but not firing Gattis is inexcusable.

The caveat to the over extended timeline is that in the meantime in between time, there are very good OC’s who are coming off the shelf to other teams & there are several talented offensive recruits who are also coming off said shelf in the same capacity...

The issue isn’t so much as to whether or not he’s conducting a thorough Corching search behind the scenes, it’s the fact that while he’s moving as the speed of sludge far better teams are quickly upgrading & making aggressive moves to fight their way up the Mountain. We’re conducting ourselves as a program as if we have all the time in the world & are coming off a 10+ season with a Bowl win...

Based on the lack of movement, you would think Miami was an ACC runner up or something, but obviously we’re not, so then that makes people ask, “What’s going on?” And the answer for several months has seemingly been, “Nothing, what’s it to ya?”...

The whole ordeal is just head scratching because of the way the guy in charge talks about how you’re supposed to be. It seems like accountability is a one-way street & the only people who have to follow the creeds of leadership & being relentless in the pursuit of greatness are the players, while the coaches are handled with kid-gloves & are only required to recruit in order to be absolved from the ire of MC.
In the last few weeks I haven’t seen many, if any, absolving Mario on his seemingly indecisiveness concerning his OC. Every day that goes by without an answer, the heat in the kitchen gets considerably warmer.

Most of the comments I’ve seen are people trying to understand why a decision hasn’t yet been made one way or the other. Many of these comments can be construed in as many different ways as there are posts. Some seem speculative. Some seem born of conjecture. And many are just out of frustration.

To suggest that “all”, or even “most” are absolving Mario in this situation is disingenuous at best. IMHO, most of us are becoming increasingly frustrated with the lack of movement one way or another. All any of us can do is wait for the HC to FINALLY make a decision.
