I think we are talking in circles but trying to say the same thing. Yes, Coach Cristobal may be waiting on an OC before firing Gattis but if that’s even the case (which we don’t truly know), then that’s the problem. 6 weeks to find a new OC with all of this money and hundreds of options out there? That’s a whole different issue in itself. If that is the case then he definitely struck out on someone, probably more than one…which just brings us right back full circle to last cycle. His process, his need to micromanage and have his hands on the offense, and many more things all makes things much more difficult for him and he needs to re evaluate. This is a make or break off season for him in terms of this hire/what he does with the offense. He better get it right or he thought this season was bad? Hah.

It's going to be Ponce or Arroyo.

I mean honestly, Arroyo is probably the odds on favorite lol. The only reason I am not confident on it is because he has been out of a job and you would think that would have been done but we can always circle back after we probably strike out on 1-5 lol.

Which OC is which?

Regardless of what Clemson did AS A TEAM (win the ACC), the passing game was horrendous. The Clemson passing game was Miami-like, even though they won twice as many games.

You can't say "but Gattis is still employed" when Brandon Streeter was ALSO still employed until a few hours ago.
But Gattis is still employed. We reserve the right to complain until he’s gone and is replaced with someone we can get excited about.

If either Arroyo or Ponce is our OC next yr....I, under no circumstances will waste my time attending any games.

How do you know Mario didn't speak to him??...Funny how Dabo did??.....

Believe me or not, I don’t care, but I’m extra agitated because I know from my contact that Mario/Miami did have some level of dialogue with Garret Riley

And Fuq off to the porsters saying that Garret Riley was staying at TCU simply because they were in the championship game… fuqin clowns

Mario is incompetent building a staff if he hires Arroyo. There must be a list of rejections, with Arroyo a consolation prize. If not, why not fire Gattis end of season and make the new hire? Arroyo was fired early December, no? No logical reason to wait, at least that I can understand.

If Mario whiffs on his top OC targets and ends up hiring someone like Arroyo, he’d deserve every bit of vitriolic criticism headed his way.

And then you’d have a contingent of posters trying to defend how Arroyo had a truly premier QB with accuracy and a howitzer of an arm in Justin Herbert and proceeded to call an offense where over 23% of passing plays were screens in 2019.

Hopefully it doesn’t come to that. Failing to land Riley, though, is brutal. And Riley landing with the premier program in our conference makes it even more of a kick to the balls.

I don’t know what you are trying to argue here

Clemson’s season hasnt been over for 2 weeks yet… Miami’s has been over for 45 days

Clemsons not firing their OC didn’t hinder them from bringing in QB and WR recruits and transfers

I've already posted that keeping Gattis around has hurt us on WR recruiting (and has had NO impact at all on QB, so let's not bull**** on that one).

I'm not sure why you are confused, I've made it pretty clear.

"Not firing Gattis" is not the reason that we didn't get Riley. And I'm ****ed that we didn't get Riley, so I should be increcibly motivated to jump on the "blame Mario for not firing Gattis sooner" train.

That is all.

What is the knock on Arroyo as OC? Just looked up his 2 years as OC under Mario at Oregon and the offense ranked
25 in 2018
16 in 2019

I understand.

Just stating a fact, that it is possible to interview for a new OC while your old one is employed.

No matter how much the fake-HR-experts try to tell us about how you have to fire one guy before you can hire another one.
