How about this. Riley brings over one of his coaches to coach wr, put Coley at TE, and move Field to some Recruiting czar role. I really think our new OC needs to bring someone with him.

Since EVERYTHING starts with the QB, the next OC has to be the QB coach too

I could see a scenario where Coley + Jeff Scott

Or Coley and Joe Brady could work

For the amount of money spent/going to be spent….. we have to get the complete package of: recruiter + developer + Gameday coach

Gattis sucks at all three

Most coaches hire their OC before the position coaches so the OC can have some input. Rhett pushed for Garin Justice and Rob Likens that’s normal. Hiring a bunch of coaches from different systems and making your OC WR coach and hiring a QB coach that has no familiarity with the OC makes 0 sense.

Kevin Smith- Lane Kiffin tree
Mirabal- Joe Moorehead tree
Ponce- Sattersfield tree
Gattis- Harbough tree

It was obvious there was a disconnect between the staff and players. I would be willing to bet it’s because there was a disconnect between the coaches. Too many chefs in the kitchen that have a million recipes for cooking Mac and cheese and they all think their recipe is the best. At the end of the day, QB and WR position has to be fixed. This Gattis/Ponce experiment needs to end.
 
I got something y’all… Check it, I’m no insider and I don’t have any contacts but I got something better…I’m Haitian. That means I got that sixth sense. Last night I had “ou rev” ( a dream).. We’re waiting on Riley Garret.. book it.

Just wait for B.O.B. to get hired on as OC and then Bill retires in a year or two, and we’re left with O’Brien as HC and Mac “take yo knees out” Jones as our QB. 😂

Love it.

I’m Caucasian and grew up in Miami. When kids at school would rip on each other (regardless if you were black or Hispanic) everyone called each other a Haitian booty scratcher

My question is…. Why

Why would anyone of our opponents be happy when O'Brien is the new OC?

Dude installed about 80% of the passing concepts that made New England an offensive juggernaut from 2010-2018.

That would be great and well from an OC perspective (obviously), but isn't that just repeating the same issues we currently have? Whoever the (hopefully) new OC is needs to bring 1-2 of his own guys over to teach his system.

Coley not happy at A&M. Sounds like he wants to come home. As long as he doesn’t touch OC, I am good with him as a recruiter.

Kind of, I would say James Franklin. He was with him well before Moorhead. He only coached with Moorhead for 1-2 years at Penn State. He was with Franklin from 2012-2017 and James Franklin isn’t known as some offensive mastermind.

Regardless, He spent more time with Harbough than Moorhead

Sort of sums up his offense. A mesh of all these different styles that sounds great on paper, but on the field it’s a master of none situation, with no identity and no cohesiveness.
