Jaden Harris #7

Just scanned the thread so if I missed this I'm sorry, but kinda scary so many people think Harris is to blame on the TD throw on the fake bubble. That is 100000000% on Hill. They're in Cover 3. He has the deep third. That is NOT Harris's responsibility. Hill got caught with his eyes in the backfield and tried to play hero ball instead of doing his job. Harris plays it exactly how it's taught. Hill blew that play.

On the screen....good lord. I haven't had a chance to do a full rewatch yet so it's the first time I really watched that play in detail but that is AWFUL. That's not even their good back. And Harris completely whiffs. God awful.

Just for sh^t and giggles, cover 2 is what it looks like we are in. Thats Harris zone he’s leaving vacant to come down on a receiver already covered. The player started on meesh side but he should have help up top from Harris
Time stamp 3:08

Too much of a recurring theme with Harris. Send him to the bench, he’s changing trajectory of games with his play.

I honestly can't believe people are calling Harris slow and unathletic. Where does that idea come from? Harris looks like he was made in a lab to play safety and runs a 4.4.

His problem is simply that he blows assignments and has poor awareness in coverage.

We need to get more athletic at CB, but the problems our defense has had the past couple of weeks are far more due to mental/alignment errors than any athletic deficiencies

7 might need to stop getting 80%ish snaps… Patterson needs to be making it a 50-50 thing… I’m sorry I’d rather see some young blood learning and able to grow from this than an older player who still hasn’t had the might come on and might never willl

He looks like has some timbs on his feet when he running. Go look at some of them other plays, looks slow
Buddy got out ran by baron on this play

Facts it’s ridiculous, look at the Va tech game, the young safeties were better in that game too when they came in when he was hurt

Playing lost. Not comfortable with what he sees or not prepared. Poor instincts as well.

Didn’t start playing football until some point in HS and safety is usually an experience and football IQ type of position. Probably need to see more Zaquan after the bye.
Especially in the box role Harris is playing zaquan needs at least 20 snaps next game Williams too

We will be in a bad way when we run into competition that we can’t score 35+ on cause I don’t see this defense stopping any defense with s pulse…Louisville scares the **** out of me and what they might do to this defensive backfield

Pretty sure he was going after Mendoza there and no Ott... he missed tackling him too.

I am not a fan of Jaden Harris-7, but Mario said on the Joe Rose show that

Poor alignment for the defense on that TD run by Montrell Johnson. IMHO, the Canes defense didn’t pre-snap shift and get lined up correctly, and got out leveraged. I remember watching that play develop, and I became immediately concerned because UF had more blockers than Canes defenders on the left side of the offense. I would think that the safety or middle linebacker has to get them lined up properly pre-snap.

I literally didn’t say one single word about the uf game?

Safety always gets blamed plus CIS narrative. Jaden played really well early but hasn't been great lately not unlike most of the D but he's been deemed the scapegoat. Even when the coaches say it's not him, it's still him 😂

He’s done this in every game except ball state. I literally Have been on this board saying it every week. Vs uf, vs famu(that 30 yard plus run they had was on him doing much like he did vs cal covering a spot that was already covered leaving a hole in the defense . In usf game the screen pass, Va tech multiple plays including getting put out the building by drones and in the game vs cal where he had a litany of wtf plays

Bingo

As for the answer to your first question, dummies. It comes from dummies.

There are a few other big plays he gave up in this game alone too…. Liability get him off the field but seriously, it’s getting ridiculous
