I've seen this sentiment across this thread and I just think it's wrong -- changing to soft zones, making teams go down the field 5-10 yards at a time etc is the exact opposite of what this team should be doing. of course 50-70 yard TDs need to be cut down drastically but we want Cam to have the ball as much as possible. asking teams to march down the field is just allowing them to control the clock and maximizes the amount of time the defense is on the field. obviously, that's the opposite of what we want, which is for our offense to be on the field.

clearly games like UF or USF where we're scoring 40-50 points and winning by 20-30 points are ideal, but if we're going to be in close games we want them to be 38-34 type shootouts where teams have to match our QB and WRs and not 28-24 slogs where our defense is playing safe and letting possessions be squeezed out of the game.

There's a lot wrong with a lot of guys on that play. There is so much poor discipline on defense.

I'm no football expert but I can't imagine it's a good idea to have your second level on defense suck up into the line like that unless you are clearly filling a gap. To just move up and have your own player in front of you in a completely crowded line seems real stupid. Three guys took themselves out of the play.

That's the type of stuff that worries me that they're not gonna fix.

dudes POINTED BACK AS THE TE IS FLYING PASS HIS FACE...that is truly embarassing and a play that was called because their oc likely saw him do it earlier in the game.

He wasnt a safety in high school....so all these reps are new to him pretty much.

I blame Guidry though because he brought in Savion Riley who Harris easily beat out...You lose the caliber of safeties you lost and your raiding vANDY FOR DBS?.

Harris was so awful at cb when he started here they quickly moved him to safety and he's still awful.Can't still be a starter for us in 25 if we hope to improve on D.

It’s still Hill’s fault though. Opens up to play deep third and gets caught reading the screen instead of 2 running vertical.

Man he was off to a surprising start this season and turned into the Knowles of the board quick. Feel bad for the kid because he cares.

Hill got caught looking inside but I bet he was probably shocked that Harris ran himself into no man's land for absolutely no reason. There was 2 guys on that side of the field, the WR who was covered by Baron and the TE. I still don't know what Harris is thinking crashing hard on the fake bubble screen action. He saw the TE actually running a route instead of blocking and he knew he ****ed up lol
