Guidry needs to stop putting our safeties 7/0 in man coverage. Opposing offenses are looking and scheming for those matchups.

Guidry Must play more 2 and 3 deep zone and blitz less. Our front 4 can apply pressure without blitzing.

That’s my perspective as well. I never try to come on here and pretend I know more than the guys doing it for a living. But that’s one thing I need someone smarter to explain to me what I’m missing.

Front 4 gets home. Make them go downfield 5-10 yards at a time if they think they can. I’m betting at some point we get them for a big negative to halt their drive.

But letting them get multiple 50-70 yard chunk plays is insane.

Harris is pretty average athletically, which is fine, he just doesn’t have good eye discipline. There is more to be desired from Meesh athletically, but both of them are not good tacklers.

Just not sure where his confidence went. He had all the swag and confidence in the world against UF. Seems like maybe after that USF game..he started second guessing himself ever since and hasnt been the same.

The two spots we failed to fully address in the offseason were DT and DB. DT is only 2 spots and we’re using Mesidor to cover the hole there. DB is 4-5 spots and there’s no one to help cover. It’s a mess.

Thank god our 3 star turned out to be good enough as a true freshman to roll out because outside of him and Porter (who got beat by that TE btw), the rest are playing like trash.

One of the newer plays in football where the screen pass is a decoy and we have proven over and over again that we can’t defend this play.

I would say switch to a zone defense, be we shredded Cal when they did that. Hopefully we get better, but we are not as good as expected since ACC play.

The great news is that we’re still undefeated and there’s tons of room to get better. We don’t have the dbs to run the defense Guidry wants to run consistently, just need to bend but don’t break.

Both of our safeties are terrible but 7 is special bad like gurvan hall was. but Guidry gets a ton of blame for putting them in 1v1 situations in man coverage repeatedly until the second half
