Jaden Harris #7

He looks lost out there. Shocker that our safety play has gotten worse after our 2 starting safeties moved onto the NFL. Markeith has looked good in coverage, and even though he weighs between 3-175lbs I trust him more than #7 taking on blockers and making tackles in space. Hopefully we are playing from ahead against in some games again and we can give #20 some opps without a ton of risk.

Another DVD hidden gem. Go look at his offer list from HS, he should be playing at a lower level school. Every once in a while you’ll hit on an OJ, but that isn’t common.

When you recruit replacement level players you’ll get these results. But Mario is star *****, so I’m sure he knows lol.

Guidry is a former college Safety. He must be absolutely losing his mind when he sees such a poor fill in the alley.

I don't know if it's lack of focus or pressing or who knows, but some of the DB plays we saw yesterday were shockers. Jaden had a really tough day beyond the whiffed screen.

There were a few pass routes where he misstepped and reacted late to a route crossing his face.

Guidry can and should protect his players and I know he asks a ton of his LBs and Safeties, but holy cow do we need something to change or teams are going to scheme anything they want.

Didn’t start playing football until some point in HS and safety is usually an experience and football IQ type of position. Probably need to see more Zaquan after the bye.

His coverage skills are non-existent and got dusted to the end zone by a big tight end.

Agree with you, Kiko has missed some tackles that have been crushers. Have a lot to clean up in the bye week. Time to see more Z. Patterson and markeith Williams,

Guidry needs to stop putting our safeties 7/0 in man coverage. Opposing offenses are looking and scheming for those matchups.

Guidry Must play more 2 and 3 deep zone and blitz less. Our front 4 can apply pressure without blitzing.

Different players, same result. Our back 7 have lacked eye disciplined for a couple years now. The blueprint is out and teams will continue to expose it. We can pull a rabbit out of a hat only so much. Not only is the back 7 weakness being exposed, but the blueprint on cam is starting to develop.

UL will be a good harbinger. If we manage to adjust and play with eye discipline against them, I am hopeful for the rest of the year. If they expose what we’ve been struggling with, I think we lose a couple more games.
 
I still cant believe he jumped a screen with a Baron DE buzzing out and covering WR already, then trying to point at his busted coverage for help.. Like why are you coming down hard when it was called and covered you *******?!

Even in the offseason we and members of Canes media identified this as the biggest area of concern and the coaching staff did very little about it.

They looked a lot better first 4 games because the D-line was getting and putting pressure on the QB relentlessly.

2 safeties and at least 2 corners needed next season.

This is why I have concerns about Louisville and the Syracuse specifically.
 
I would say switch to a zone defense, be we shredded Cal when they did that. Hopefully we get better, but we are not as good as expected since ACC play.
