Issues with coach Mike Rumph

Carter was about Banda, Dean got dropped by Bama, Bandy had a relationship with Banda as well.

Who exactly did Rumph close?

You can always root for another team

Someone come up with proof of bags.......

all i see is Miami getting beat in their backyard for DBs

Miami has some serious ballers at corner coming next year. (As of now) Henderson I don't care about. Losing Edwards sucks. The guys next year are better than this crop.

Humph failed. Plain and simple.

University of Florida signed 6 (S I X) corners this class. He signed 2, trajan bandy and Dean. That is an utter embarrassment. I love him as a coach, but he needs to learn to recruit.

I know I've said this like 1,392 times on here, but coaches don't recruit based on the position they coach, they recruit based on region.

Obviously Rumph has some contact with the CB recruits but he's not their sole/primary recruiter. He definitely wasn't the only one recruiting Henderson and Edwards.

I was going to ask about this. I was beginning to think that it had changed because I remember the coaches used to recruit areas not positions.

Stop it. There's no guarantee we get any of the '18guys.

Lets just say...UM has a good chance at some serious ballers at corner next year. Will see how it plays out.

Edwards officially out.

This is an embarrassment after all the **** we talked on social media.

I'm not embarrassed, are you? I didn't talk any shīt on social media. Did you?

Are you referring to Pete? Or just some random twitter trolls.

And why is this important?

Stating you don't care about Henderson really ruins your credibility.

Kid from a high school in the heart of Dade county with elite size, elite speed, and elite athleticism. Kid that Saban (who is well known for his eye for DB's) liked as well.

Yeah...post less.

To be fair to him, all the seniors he worked with in his first season (Elder, Colbert) liked him a lot. Apparently his coaching acumen is appreciated.

But recruits are downright allergic to him right now. It's almost as if Miami has to hide him from 2018 recruits.

All this talk of recruiting disaster or epic fail is bull. Epic fail would be if we signed no DB's or they were all jags, which is most definitely not the case. So ease up a little. Was it the best outcome? No But was it an Epic Failure? Most definitely not. Overall a very solid class.

That's more accurate. If he comes through next year with all this talent, all is forgiven.

Some people on here are saying Rumph is learning on the job. If you've watching football recruiting for awhile good recruiters generally are good recruiters from day 1, its a charisma/salesman thing you either have or you don't - Banda is essentially an inexperienced coach/recruiter for the most part and the difference is huge. The James Coley's of the world are beast recruiters from jump-street.

Richt needs to do something about how this staff closed - Rumph, Hartley, Richt Jr didn't pull their weight, Dugans and Brown are on warning (Brown has a history of generally being a great recruiter). People are pointing to October stating that was the game changer, it wasn't. Plenty of programs have had winning issues especially in a coaches bump year and kill it in recruiting (see what Jimbo did at FSU his first full year).

Excusing this year if you want Miami to be a ACC top contender each year (like FSU and Clemson are right now) isn't how you get there. Something has got to change, if it doesn't we'll be sitting here a year from now pointing to '19 as the solution as we half-closed 18....

Dugans is good. He's off the warning list.

Brown has history. The McFarland thing is different than Rumph losing four corners to UF in one cycle.

Jon Richt, well, it's hard to separate the nepotism from it.

Stop blaming Rumph and start blaming Richt.

-He insists on calling his own plays
-His ****** play calling was the catalyst for that 4 game losing streak in October that killed our Coastal hopes
-It's his job to close on the elite guys.

You have to WIN. It's that simple. Either win on LOI day with an elite class and keeping elite locals in house or win during the season and create hype for the program. We win just 2 of those 4 October games and the perception of his program is MUCH different in the eyes of recruits.

Too much blame is being allocated to the wrong destination. Homeboy makes a lot of money and he needs to be held accountable.

As recruiters, Dugans just signed two All Americans at WR. He's fine. Rumph not so much.

Dugan's got incredibly lucky with Thomas, many schools backed off of Thomas at the last minute due to an uncertain grade situation. He lacked backup plans for Jeudy, Smith, and Holloman. I think folks are missing the fact that we were competing with West Virginia for Mike Harley. We basically lost every head to head with major schools we went up against. That's not the staple of a top recruiter.

Do you believe Henderson or Edwards are elite guys? Do you think those guys are difference makers? I don't. Henderson is a great athlete who is not a very good CB, and Edwards is so special that UF never sent their HC or DB coach to visit him here.
