Issues with coach Mike Rumph

Rumph has to go.
The second he re-tweeted Maro Wilson's recruitment announcement, KNOWING Wilson was going to pick the Gators, he should have been put on some kind of informal "probation" period. A kind of "We're watching you" type thing. All he does is follow that up by losing out on everybody in South Florida.
Go get me somebody that can recruit and I'll take my chances with their coaching ability.

This. A D1 position coaches role is to recruit first and foremost. Anyone with a pulse should be able to coach the technique/tackling/fundamentals. Dumph gets FAR too much credit for the success of the CB's this year (which undoubtedly was a result of a superior system that put them in a position to succeed).

x2

They're wearing this "look what he did for the CB's this year" thing out.

Stop it dummies....

Malek Young, Jhavonte Dean, Trajan Bandy and DeeJay Dallas.

Next year puts Rumph on the map.

Al Blades, D.J. Ivey and Josh Jobe.

Also involved with Herbert and Jon Ford because he does Broward

He still needs to do better though

Henderson wasn't coming here. I'm not endorsing Rumph by that statement, just saying that he wasn't coming here.

I know I've said this like 1,392 times on here, but coaches don't recruit based on the position they coach, they recruit based on region.

Obviously Rumph has some contact with the CB recruits but he's not their sole/primary recruiter. He definitely wasn't the only one recruiting Henderson and Edwards.

It is truly amazing how literally everyone always blamed rumph for not being able to get heritage guys. Then he gets one and you either say it wasn't because of him or completely ignore it.

Well guess what Herbert was more important for us than Edwards or Henderson. Maybe even more important than the two of them combined.
So if you guys can put the blame on him for not getting Henderson and Edwards, I can easily assign him the credit of getting bandy, dean, and herbert. All 3 of which are much more important than those two were.

Man, this was a really good dub haul with dean, bandy, and carter. It could have been better, yes, but stop acting like it's ****. Man y'all need to ******* calm down and stop following recruiting. Cause some of y'all are just as weak as mcfarlands *** is.

That's true Macho, however, you and I both know that your future position coach plays a HUGE roll in getting the kid to campus. They have to comfortable and confident in that aspect (probably more than any other factor).

What makes me sick about rumph was he was one of the major people talking the **** about golden not being able to recruit his kids and he cant even keep kids that he coached in high school rumph is terrible

Saw some video of Miramar signing day and they had a Miami poster in the background but no UF... I mean we don't have anyone from Miramar coming aside from possibly Edwards right?

Henderson's father is reportedly close with Shannon. That was all I needed to hear to know that we would not get the Henderson kid. I'm not going to skewer Coach Rumph for this.

As far as Edwards is concerned, the kid is a complete cuck. Edwards didn't want to compete at STA and went back to Miramar, and then chooses a school that made him as much of a priority as ****** is for Richard Simmons. This kid wanted to go to UF and was willing to get cucked to do so. So I'm not going to judge Coach Rumph on this cuck either.

Tell me about the other kids Coach Rumph was in on who signed at UM.

Two things that need to be considered for those defending Rumph, that seemingly get ignored as you say things like "look how good the DBs were" and no credit for bandy, no bad credit for losing _____:

1) We are not talking about recruits outside of "hometown" recruits. The hometown team should do better with hometown recruits. Scrubmph needs to make miami more appealing to miami kids. He was a local figure brought in for this task specifically.

2) While Rumph might deserve a ton of credit for coaching, it is not as definite a conclusion to draw as many of you are making it seem. The DBs didn't change from the year before, the system did. We went from needing them to be all stars while we play patty cake, to running one of the more disruptive defensive fronts in the country. Everyone looks better as a result of the type of DL play we got this year.

No Cane he was never coming here. His father and Shannon are boys. It was all to build up suspense for the close and to make it appear like we lost him. Think back. When he took his official visit he pouted and mean mugged the entire time. He has always been a lizard.

Apparently a week ago he was.

This is innacurate. OOS the coaches start recruiting in regions. As they establish relationships with a potentially interested recruit the position coaches come in and try and seal the deal. Hence Brown having the last Miami visit with McFarland. But in South Florida, the position coaches recruit start to finish. The SF DB's all had Rumph and Banda on them.

BTW, both Henderson and Edwards were considered Canes this time last year. Beware 2018.

Complain all you want about his recruiting, if his units produce like they did last year then keep the man for as long as you can! I've watched three coaching staffs waste good recruits so get me some freakin coaches!

Edwards officially out.

This is an embarrassment after all the **** we talked on social media.
