Yeah, I have mixed feelings.
My initial thought is the Santonio Thomas situation because it feels so similar. But you can’t just talk about character and then pounce on the first four star who comes free. We need to do our homework.
If anyone can get a waiver, this kid likely can. I mean, he was there for 1.5 months. Likely depends on how big a fuss UF makes about him leaving.Would he have to sit a year?
Not sure what’s going on there but something seems to went sour with UF. We actually have a better shot than I’d ever thought. I did say zero percent lol.
Send Walker there and tell him to have a nice chit chat.Yes and yes. Their rep as having scum bags on staff is living up to it quite well.
Bingo LCE.....if not extenuating circumstances surrounding his leaving UF, we should pass. I mean like HARD PASS too.Do you think he fits the Character criteria the staff is aiming for with trying to build a new culture?
Everyone saying he’s an upgrade over a current starter is pretty much saying he should start. He probably is an upgrade over some of the guys who are competing for starting spots but we need a guy who can come in now and hold down a tackle position for the 2020 season. It’s always good to bring incoming line talent that can help for 2021 and beyond but the immediate need for someone in 2020 is glaring.I agree with the vetting 1000% but who said anything about him starting? He is a talented OT that could be a multi year starter for us and potentially change the outlook of the room but no one is saying start him next season. Atleast I haven’t seen anyone say that.
Agreed, but when given the option between a blue chip tackle for the next 3-4 years or a rental on a guy coming off a ACL injury who was a good P5 starter...Everyone saying he’s an upgrade over a current starter is pretty much saying he should start. Scholarships don't work like that. Cutting someone doesn't immediately open one up.COTDAMM y’all still in your feelings.... sign this **** and terminate the scholarship of the worst Olinmen on deck to make room
This is a business not Tinder
Multiple options and one is very likely. Not hard to figure out.

YesYour talking about Palmetto?

Take this with a grain of salt because I'm limited in knowledge on why he's leaving......but I'm not sure this kid fits with the type of kid we're trying to bring in our locker room. If he's got a legit reason for needing to be closer, or something like the "Chris Steele situation" popping off left and right at UF, I get it, bring him onboard........but if it's something like "Oh, I would've chosen Miami but didn't because the scheme-Offensive Coaches etc etc etc", I wouldn't bring him with us. Case being that if Lashlee's O pops, and I really think it will, we'll have him for max 2 seasons...and while I know that CMD will ABSOLUTELY promote Likens/Justice to run the same scheme on O, what if the kid doesn't like something about it? Does he say "this doesn't work for me" again? Idk boys, something about quitting that just doesn't stand right with me (unless it being of extenuating circumstances around him leaving UF)
Sometimes you have to suffer in the present by not bringing on a potential 5* talent, but you reap the benefits because you stick to your guns and build a TEAM.
Does anyone know, without putting the kids personal biz out there, a light version of why the kid is leaving UF?
