I still want to keep Golden - FOR THE RECORD!

1. Butch ( I don't think he's a real option )
if I can't have Butch, keep Al. I give him two more years before I say no mas. He must do a better job recruiting EVERY school. He must stop this B.S. of not talking to kids at all if he's uninterested. He MUST play the game and be forthcoming with recruits and local coaches. My 2

Before the PSU nonsense he was on the hot seat with me because of that clown of a DC we have. Now that he has had an affair with PSU and plans to keep the worst DC in UM history, I really don't think he has the goods to make us relevant again. Hope in wrong, but kinda know that I'm right

For the record I hope Golden stays. He stuck with the team through that ncaa investigation crap. He has Canes in the top ten in recruiting. He is just now starting to get his players on the team. And losing him would be devastating to this team unless they get a homerun hire and I have my doubts that it will happen.
That being said, I won't be surprised if he bolts for PSU. It's the one place he would leave Miami for. We knew his background when he first came here so that shouldn't a surprise to anyone.
Until it is official that he is gone, Canes Fam need to support him.

I still want to keep Golden... who else wants to go on record with me as being pro-Golden? I know the Golden bashers will jack this thread... but I want to see the pro-Golden posters line up with me. Anyone out there? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone? Crickets! But seriously, let's go on the record here and now so that when we win the whole **** thing this coming year or next, we will know who was right. By the way, I am not one of those posters that thinks that just because a fan wants Golden out of here makes him or her any less of a fan than me. That is absurd.

Are you going on record saying that you're satisfied with the coaching staff he has put together? Specifically on defense.

A vote of confidence towards Golden includes a vote of confidence for his performance (staff included).

Not sure how I feel about Golden running things however I don't think there's a stud of a coach out there that we can REALISTICALLY go after and hire to keep this class together. Tired of hearing these rumors and talks come up that's for sure though.

Do you think he really would've stayed if UM got hammered like USC did?

Golden is one of the reasons we were not hammered like USC.

I was a Golden Supporter and excuse maker. After seeing the RAB debacle and thinking back to other games, this guy and his staff were thoroughly out coached, not effectively prepared, and used certain players who should not have been on the field (31,30,34,22) ever.

To me this yells out, Golden is part of the problem, and the fact he is making no changes and believes in who and what is going on, tells me he is not the solution. His stubbornness and ego are only exceeded by his unwillingness to acknowledge the issues and be realistic about making needed staff changes.

I have also come to the conclusion Golden wants to be at PED U, whether it happens or not--he does not want to be at Miami, and that is a big problem. The administration is going to give him time to fail or succeed, so unless PED U grabs him we are stuck for a while and at least hope that incrementally we can become better, but ultimately the U needs a real leader to get back.

But in reality Golden is only part of the problem which is deep rooted in the way the administration looks or overlooks the football program. It's sad, but truth be told it's like a second rate operation that once was successful and is now struggling to gain some traction, JMO.

Can we get a sorted list of recruits that said they will stand by The U if Golden left vs a list that said they would open things up or bounce?

One thing for those that think consistency is needed. Ron Zook was hired to take over at Florida and recruited well (similar to Golden). However, he couldn't get the job done. Enter Urban Meyer and they won two national titles. Just food for thought.

I liked Golden, but I had ZERO faith in Onofrio. Golden's inability to make the necessary changes on Defense plus flirting with PSU have really destroyed my trust in him. I'm on the Bring Back Butch Davis Bandwagon now

I want him two more years at least. I think that, considering what he inherited and the mess he has had to deal with, is a fair time to see what we want to see. However, if he has been lying and actually takes the PSU job now, then I'd personally like to kick his *** out as fast as possible. I think he is a man of great integrity. If he turns out to have been playing us, he becomes a man of zero integrity.

I would be happy if he stayed to play out his rebuild job .
I'd also be happy if he left and we hired someone better that is a proven successful HC.
I'd be upset if he left and we hired a dud to replace him.
