Hurns' Dad

What's he so mad about? Hurns is a JR. He still has another year of eligibility and next year, we have the chance to actually be special. Hurns could be the premiere WR of a REAL BCS team, not the joke we are this year.

Problem is our AD said this doesnt mean we wont impose a THIRD bowl ban next year either. I think that is the main part handled wrong, I dont know if our acting AD wasnt prepared for the question but that leaves alot, ALOT of room for interpretation. I think the university should have said they would not impose a third when they came out with this. They should have used this as a platform for standing up for itself. Right now its like we have no spine and do whatever the will of NCAA and we can still end up getting screwed.

That open doors for major negative recruiting and it leaves the juniors to think why even play next year because no one will give them a straight answer. Golden wont say sh*t, AD already said he wont deny that we can impose a third, Manny from the herald is already throwing the question at Stephen Morris. I can understand why a guy like Hurns father is mad because his son is basically a junior and up in limbo

We're not imposing next year because we'll know the NCAA's penalty by next year (I think...hope).

His son just went out onto the football field with a real injury with the risk of further injury, and played because he had something to play for...and it was for nothing.

I'd be pretty ****ed. And, if it was your son, you'd be, too.

I genuinely can't tell when you're trolling or serious anymore. Congrats.

The real genius of it all is...it doesn't matter...much like the games we play.

That'd be true if you were always a worthless poster with no [future] potential to contribute substance. I anticipate the Hurricane football program will make a run back at relevancy. Maybe you will follow its trajectory.

Perhaps like the wonderful substance of this thread, which read like the ramblings of a man on PCP?

If Hurns keeps this up maybe his scholie will be pulled to make room for Coley. Nice trade IMO...

If you aren't with this team then you're against it.

You aren't going to drop Hurns and Scott. Stop it.

Scott may already be gone. If Hurns doesn't "stop it" he may be next up on deck. I would replace Scott and Hurns with Cunningham and Coley gladly. Shape up or ship out! Attrition is a ****...

His dad is more ****ed that Waters has passed him on the depth chart. Hurns is an average WR.

Also helps Waters that Hirns has a big *** cast on his hand

But I'm just sayin

Drop Hurns and Scott and bring in AJL, Coley, and Cunningham.

But I'm just saying...

That's just crazy! Hurns is a good possession receiver who has had some issue staying healthy, he's not a kid you just discard.

Except you still couldn't answer the question directly when it was posed to you. Even if it failed, it was a genuine attempt to place legitimate context to a football perspective.

In either case, true excellence doesn't measure itself by what others do, right? Isn't that what this program was built on? I didn't take you for someone who lowered their play to the competition? In fact, isn't that what Cokerization was all about? Hey, aren't you the guy that railed on Cokerization and Shannonization (with the combined term: "Corchization") less than 24 hours ago in this thread: http://canesinsight.co/showthread.php?38500-If-we-self-impose-DO-IT-NOW/page5

Consider applying your theories to your own posting.

*I'm aware you'll likely try to keep this going for entertainment, and in the past I would have gladly done the same and turned this into a 10-page back and forth, but why bother with someone trolling around and openly admitting the discussion doesn't really matter. Therefore, I powerfully salute your internet supertroll powers and step out.

All these parents(Hurns and Robinson) are worried about themselves and there investments. its the 'i'm riding my kids talent out of the hood' mentality that leaves these athletes broke once they turn pro. they start 'investing' in pop warner, JV, Varsity college and hopefully the pros. its the same reason/pressure why theose kids left early last year, and we all know how that turned out. Luther's Dad was talking about him like he was 1st or second round pick, saying Luther 'a beast coming off the edge', really? its just that hood mentality, and the reason why parents get side deals of the Kids pro contract as 'managers'. money or the thought of it usually change everybody else around the recipient.

Wait, so on the other side of this coin, Hurns wouldn't have balled out if he knew there was a bowl game gone?

If that's the case, then he belongs back with the Shannon crew. When the going gets tough.....We need more "soldiers" like K2.

Dear lord baby Jesus this thread sucks on so many levels. I wish I could say something that could somehow balance the potato tossing contest, but I can't.

Who is to say I'm even trolling. We're talking about the real human condition here, something that is often lost on this forum, real common sense about real life ****. Maybe it wasn't really Hurns' dad. But if it was, we have people rallying openly against a father being ****ed off that his son played in a game with a broken hand in a game that was meant to be for nothing by the administration a day after it was played. Would I go on the radio and voice my displeasure? No. Would I talk to my son and perhaps even the position coach or head coach about it. Of course I would. And you are lying to yourself if you say you wouldn't either. We aren't talking about Luther Robinson's dad *****ing about playing time, here.

All of the talk in this thread to the contrary is just typical football board talk by people that don't know what they are talking about in the first place. You have people openly saying "I am sure Hurns would have played even if the game didn't even mean anything!" When you and I could openly run down a list of former players from very recently that half-assed most of a season because we had nothing to play for. Its just silly and not based in any kind of reality.

Wrong in so many ways. Just dead *** wrong.

Why the **** would we drop Scott please explain that one to me..

Scott is suspended indefinitely correct? If the story is true he may already have one foot out the door. Now you have Hurns complaining that Waters got his rep and his dad is calling in to roast the football program? I'm sure Golden will handle this properly. If it means Hurns and Scott are gone for Cunningham and Coley then so be it. This football team is only as strong as it's weakest links and we don't need any weak links. These kids need to remember these scholies are for one year at a time...
