This sums up this defense.... Deon Bush covering the slot on 3rd and short, already off about 7 yards begins backpedaling right before the snap, slot guy runs the short distance to the marker and simply turns and catches the ball while Deon has to run UP to stop him. 1st down.....WTF

The defense sucks, and that's due to **** poor coaching, lack of talent, and lack of depth due to Randy's clusterf.uck of a roster management strategy. The defense sucking is keeping us from winning more games. That's all I care about.

If he thought you could put all 11 players on one side of the hashes, would it matter to you? Or if he thought we could run a 2-7-2 but we got blasted each game, would you just chalk it up to "the defense sucking"? His scheme sucks. His scheme puts players in less-than-ideal positions to make plays. But he blames the players. You could bring in FSU/bama type talent and you'd get similar results. It's a ****** scheme.

I dont know if you've ever been in charge of a company, business or a large group of individuals, but I can tell you a couple things

1. Always praise in public

2. Criticize in private

We have no idea what goes on behind closed doors. For all we know D'Onforio is already gone and just finishing out the season. We have no clue what happens when those doors close, but If you start ripping your guys in public, you will lose any and all RESPECT. Not just from your asst coaches, but from everyone.

What he said was not making excuses. Is 90 defensive snaps too much? Absolutely. Do we have the depth? Nope

Did we slow down their run in the 3rd quarter? Yes we did and D played much better in 2nd half. So where's the excuse???

Why dont you talk about how the offense went 3 and out 7 times. Or the fact they had 12 first downs. They had the ball 16 times and ran 42 plays, 2.63 plays per possession. They had 20 minutes of TOP. Or the fact they did nothing against the 103rd ranked defense. All of that is excused because we gave up 463 yards and everyone wants to fire D.

D'Onofrio will not coach at UM next year. They will fire him after the bowl game. He knows that they are going to fire him. Golden is helping soften the blow and help his friend land somewhere decent. UM needs $7 million and cannot raise the funds unless they visibly demonstrate a will to return to elite status.
