He is the GATOR FANS' dream candidate, but that is not to say that the UF (interim) president or (doomed) AD want him.

Also, think about it another way. Outside of "more salary", the Gators can't really offer anything that is much of a change from what Lane already has at Ole ****, or an "upgrade" over what was given to the last Gator coach. The Gator gave Slingblade Billy what he "needed", better facilities, more money for assistants, more NIL money.

Outside of "oooh, but Florida is a blueblood", there is no clearly superior reason for Lane Train to jump from Ole **** to UiF.
Exactly and the only ppl that think Florida is a bloodblue are delusional Gator fans.

While it’s fun to talk about who uf might hire next, I think there’s something we’re missing.

There isn’t a single chance in **** anybody who would take that job is going to be able to fix things. Not one.

So don’t worry about keeping Billy around, they can lose just fine without him. And don’t worry about kiffin taking the job, he knows it’s a step down from where he is. By the time they dig out of the nightmare they’re in, they won’t have two nickels to rub together, let alone NIL money. They’re generationally f&cked right now.

Enjoy.
your optimism is contagious.

When is Fatson going to miss the rest of the season for gastric band surgery?

Should have happened freshman year, with a redshirt. The first step of losing 200 pounds is that you have to want to lose 200 pounds.

But, hey, if Fatson gets down to 300 pounds, Florida could donate his old uniforms to a sailboat maker, to be used for mainsails.

@TheOriginalCane did you ever look at gator mike’s profile avatar? I think this is him as this is what he has (and he has it sideways)

This is the guy who was going to kick our asses on the field and in the parking lot, step on our throats and **** on us???

Holy ****.

This dip**** is so indistinguishable from thousands of other losers in "Gator Nation".

He looks like mother****ing Dim Shady. Eminenema.

That picture must have been taken at the same time as those Gator recruit Glamour Shots in The Swamp. While there's no peanut shells on the ground, there is still trash under the seats behind him.

Guy is wearing fashionably ripped jeans ("pre-jorts"), chunky gold jewelry, and one of the worst t-shirts I've ever seen.

And staring into the distance pensively, as if he is just beginning to see his hero, Slingblade Billy, waddle onto the sidelines in his fake-sweater-vest polo shirt.

You could probably craft a canoe from the excess skin.

If Florida can guarantee being a top NIL program…why can’t they be one right now?
They have money it’s just the HC can’t recruit. That’s that typical PR line and you are 100% right. If they saying they will be a top NIL program it means they are doing the best they can now. Which means they probably have a good NIL and money they just can’t close cause the HC can’t close. It’s that simple

Like TOC said previously - and I’ll add on - people aren’t considering the talent mismanagement, QB play, ****** OL and play calling of Napier in judging Wilson. He’s a very talented player and a take all day over Sam Brown. We can agree to disagree or whatever - no one’s convincing me otherwise. Wilson thrives in the right situation, including at UM. I hope we make a portal play for him. If we do I think he starts at UM next season.
Like Xavier Henderson before him, I just don’t think he’s that good. The gators got Ricky Pearsal drafted in the first round with Billy calling plays and Mertz throwing passes and i honestly thought Wilson would be that guy this year but it hasn’t happened. But you guys are welcome to your own opinions. It’s still possible he transfers somewhere and blows up. I don’t have an issue with that.

Here's what I see as the distinction. Pearsall was a senior transfer and Wilson was a true freshman last year. I think that Slingblade Billy tried to outthink everyone by calling on Pearsall for downfield passes and trying to let Wilson use his speed for short passes for YAC and end-around plays. Wilson's numbers as a true freshman were not bad, they were just shocking that a speed guy had such short-yardage-target numbers.

This year was supposed to be the year that Wilson replaced Pearsall as the downfield guy, but Miami knocked out Mertz in Game 1, and then you had one (super-easy) game with a true freshman QB, and a third game of rotating QBs. I think the sample size right now is just too small to say that Wilson is "not the guy", and the injury also doesn't help. I think that if Florida had an OL that ALLOWED Mertz/Lagway the time to throw downfield, Wilson would be the one catching a lot of those "explosives".

Wilson would definitely be a guy that Miami should take if he becomes available.
