FSU 2013

Winston did look good. Wide Right always had higher rated recruiting classes than us and praise from the press as we rolled to 4 NCs to their 0. We need to beat the swamp scum. After that, it is to our benefit it wide right is undefeated on Nov 2. If we can stay unbeaten, will be like the old days. November game with everything on the table. The loser chant, the cameras, the wide right hype, Bobby will be rolled out, all the high lights of their near misses, the drama, ABC gameday, all the doubts and mightmare memories for their fans, Corso will put on the feathers-- in short for that moment the world will be watching THE U again. It would be THE MOMENT; the one these kids came here for, the one Golden came here for, the one we all are waiting for, the one everyone else fears, our chance to reclaim our birthright.

He was throwing to wide open guys all night. Props for being accurate and knowing where to go with the football. He got away with a few bad passes. It was a combination of horrible defense and Winstons skill. Have to see how he does with tighter windows to throw in. Mike Rocco went 29 of 37 for 300 yards and 4 TDs against us so I've seen what even ****** qbs can do throwing to wide open guys.

No need to rip what they did tonight apart, because we are not a finished product yet ourselves.

Our performance vs FAU, a lesser opponent than Toledo and Pitt, was far from perfect.

Morris should have done what the Freshman did tonight vs FAU.

Just hope we can put it together quickly, and FSU can stay unbeaten until we meet.

Why not rip them apart if someone sees fit? Thats all alot of people did with the FAU performance. You for example went after Morris. If O'Leary drops his TDs and Coley hangs on to his then the stat lines for both QBs look a little different.

Seriously?

I'm not trying to **** on their performance against a team that probably would have beat FAU by the same margin as we did. To make myself feel better about were we are.

They have some issues, but their's is not as glaring as 4 and 14 on 3rd down, with only 1 3rd down conversion in the 2nd half of the game.

Nor does it compare to a SR QB that is suppose to be the next great in a long line of Cane QB looking less than avg vs a team that went 3-9 last year.

The fact is O'Leary didn't drop that pass, vs all the drops we had, and Winston didn't throw a pick to a wide open LB, like Morris.

Ripping them apart isn't going to change anything.

People feel that some how digging through what ever little flaw will change something.

Until we start playing better than them vs better teams, we have no need to even talk ****.

You know what else won't change anything is you coming here telling people that they should act respectful of a rival until we play better against better teams or whatever the **** you wrote. Like anything you say or anyone else says is gonna change the outcome of this season. I have the need to talk **** as a Cane fan because I hate everything about FSU. I will talk **** about them for as long as I'm breathing.

If you want to continue to compare us to them after one game in completely different environments and completely different opponents in Week 2(FSU has a bye then Nevada) then please go ahead. Compare FAU to Pitt in an unfavorable way if you want, but I guarantee FAU has better athletes in the secondary and wouldn't pay the same type of "respect" to FSU WRs as Pitt did. So many people are so damned quick to love up FSU after one game. A game against an outmatched opponent with Big East caliber athletes on defense. So scared of FSU blowing by them that they let Winston play a glorified 7 on 7 game against them. "Lets pay them respect they deserve guysm" *****'em

Winston played well, but it doesn't imply impending doom for the entire ACC.

Yep. I just wish our fans paid UM the same respect they pay fsu. Give our guys the same love and breaks. That's all.

I bet FAU had better athletes than, Mid Tenn, South Alabama, UL Monroe, UL Lafayette. Just 4 of the powerhouses that beat them a year ago, but Pitt who went into 3 overtimes with ND a year ago, just sucks vs FAU.

No one is loving FSU(other than ESPN), but whats the sense of talking **** about someone that went out destroyed their opponent? Outside of their DL not putting pressure on Pitt without a blitz package where did they go wrong?

QB 5 total TD, 90% completion

RB avg 6 yds a carry, and could have ran for more yards had the passing game not shredded them.

WR, and TE did their jobs

Defense got sacks, and TO, but i guess they sucked.

Looks like they did what they were suppose to do. Pound the **** out of Pitt.

While you're congratulating Pitt for losing to ND last year check out some of the other teams that beat them. Pretty sure they lost to Towson or some piece of **** team like that. You said they'd beat FAU as badly as we did, and I doubt that's true.

After watching that Frosh QB last night...still feel the same way?!?
Why they will be really good:

2 good RBs (Freeman/Wilder)
3 good WRs (Shaw, Green, Benjamin)
1 good TE (O'Leary)
4 returning OL

Timmy Jernigan
Christian Jones
Telvin Smith
Lamarcus Joyner

Why they'll lose 4 games:

New QB
New assistants
New defense
Lost Dent, Haulstead, Haggins, Haplea, etc to injury/suspension
No replacement for Werner and Carradine

Morris probably could have done what Winston did if FAU left our receivers wide open on every play. Rashad Greene had most of his 126 yards making catches standing by the sideline with no defender within 4-5 yards of him.

This is why one great game does not make a player great:

October 08, 2011
Miami Hurricanes
Game Stats:

Logan Thomas completes 23-of-25 passes for 310 yards and 3 TDs, rushes for 38 yards on 11 carries and 2 TDs in a 38-35 win against Miami.

Following that game, the ESPN bloggers, the sports talk shows, everyone was talking about how Thomas was the next great thing. That this was his break out game. We all know how that went.

I know he tore it up passing, but was anyone else relieved to see that he's not that fast? I was. We just get mauled by running qbs and I was under the impression that this guy was a fantastic athlete. I was surprised that he wasn't faster.

Winston is as ***** as they come. Did you see that press conference? The dude might as well have shown up in drag. This is going to rustle some good ol' boy jimmies in the Panhandle.

Excellent point on Rocco. He looked like Joe Montana against us because we couldn't cover anyone. Against teams that rushed him and covered guys? Not so much. Basic tenet of football right there. Just wait before you bust out the anointing oils and start feeding this dude grapes.

He looked like an incredible athlete when he took his helmet off. He was headier than I thought he'd be.

Nope. I'm a believer in that offense as long as they stay healthy. They're not deep at RB or WR.

That defense is the real deal. They've got some freaks in that front seven.

I thought Winston looked good, but **** Pitt couldn't cover me. FSU WRs were wide open all night.

I am intrigued, aren't you? - to see how Jamey Football does against real defensive obstacles, cliffhanger games, come from behind do or die scenarios, etc. My gut tells me that his big challenge will be reining his self adulation in enough to handle adversity in dramatic situations, and if he loses a game (particularly a big one), how he handles his bruises from falling off the pedestal.

So far I've been impressed with two key attributes: his first game success, and going on record that he's on par with Manziel somehow before he played even a single down - which made the media slurping excessively nauseating because it was like he actually backed it up.

BTW - Coley catches that first pass, and Perryman makes his on the INT the slaughter is on, and Morris is a terror. We beat FAU more than the scoreboard showed....holding back.

Yeah, I just can't crown them to do anything spectacular yet either this year. I will give props where props are due. For a freshmen, even playing what most perceive as lesser talent at Pitt, the fresh QB (I wont even bother mentioning his name) did exactly what he was supposed to do. He made his reads, he hit the open receivers, made good judgements and put his team in a position to blow out the opponent. However I am just not sure I can take anything away from the game other than it doesn't seem like the kid will be a glaring liability. He will definitely help his team, but GEZUS is Pitt really THAT bad??? They looked horrible thru 3 qtrs and I couldn't even take watching the last qtr cuz the announcers were making me nauseous. One thing that was a certifiable fact though is, that Tally team's offense was ready to play on Monday. Our offense not so much on Friday. It is what it is, but we got alot of work to do before our date with the ShyteCrocs this weekend and nothing that the Tally team did will make any difference. We have to get our ***** together and get it together soon. We misfired far too much and leaving 28pts on the field is unfathomable for a team with an offense as experienced and explosive as we like to believe ours is. Time will tell.

The backup QB Coker was hitting wide open receivers too when they let him throw. Maybe they will both win the Heisman this year.

I don't give a **** who they're playing, their offense looks alot more crisp than ours did against FAU.

I guess FSU's not "holding back" tonight like we were.

Once u get that one QB thats all u need. To many fans on this site think if u put blue and orange on u suck or garnet and gold. Its the players, what hapened to the TEs go to fswho to die? NOqueerylooked god cuz he has a good qb now. There always gona be a problem because they recruit beter players plain and simple. We gotta recruit better and better on each level DL LB QB RB.....we gotta stack elite talent period. If they do it we can do it.Thats how we dominated them in the early 2gs we had more nfl players. Gotta give Jimbo his due he can recruit, I mean we stole Coley and they still got M Thomas.
Alot of fans get mad but they recruit better and until we start recruiting elite kids they will continue to be a problem. Winston looks better than SM but we will wait n see cuz its 1 game. I like qbs who can put touch and work the midle of the field, if SM did this he would be elite. For some reason hes like McNabb throwing at peoples feet on a reg basis. I dont trust SM and think he will be the reason we wont win the acc but we will still have a good season.

Our DL can beat fsus OL, to me thats there only weakness so far it seems.

Here's the problem. You're right, you do need elite talent, but you think all the elite talent is the 5 star recruits. For example, you would have loved for UM to recruit Jeff Driskell and ignored John Manziel.

LOL bro you sound like a ******.... FSU dont "recruit" better players wtf r u talking bout dumbass?

They are deeper w/ talent b/c Jimbo has been at FSU longer then Miami has been under Golden w/o a NCAA cloud over their program. But Miami has just as good of talent and better talent in some areas then they do.

FSU's Linebackers aside from Telvin Smith are overrated and Telvin Smith aint better then D. Perryman...... i'd take Figueroa over the all hype no substance Christian Jones any day of the week.

There cornerbacks aint no better then the corners Miami got and Deon Bush is a better safety then anyone on their team including Karlos Williams who gets so much hype but cant win a starting job at FSU.

Sucking off FSU why..... its Florida State they are going to get good players just like Miami is going to.

Miami did "recruit" 2 elite 11 QBs Kevin Olsen and Brad Kaaya..... both will be redshirt freshman before they get a chance to compete for the QB job. So quit *****ing *****, I expected Jameis Winston to be a good player, and I expect Kevin Olsen to be a good player as well.
