FSU 2013

Winston won't ever had to look for a ******** when he is in South Florida. Miami fans will be lining up to felate him apparently

Figueroa over Christian Jones?

Homer alert

lol Christian Jones is overrated, he NEVER makes plays, none of their LBs except for Telvin Smith made any plays against Pitt.... just b/c he had 5 star under his name 4 years ago doesnt mean anything, he hasnt lived up to the hype at all.

I'll take Figs over him w/o hesitation.

Agreed. In a couple years Figs will be past where Jones is. Telvin Smith was making plays all over the place last night. I would rather have him.

If Jones was that good, he wouldnt be there for his senior year. Same with Joyner

Alex Figueroa and Thurston Armbrister make more plays then Christian Jones does and thats just being honest.

Lamarcus Joyner is overrated too, nobody should be intimidated when they see him at cornerback.... he a decent playmaker but Greg Reid was better and he aint as physical as his little *** thinks he is.

Figs will definitely be the better player when he leaves here.

Alex Figueroa made more of an impact in that one game against FAU then Christian Jones did all last season

****, is Lamarcus Joyner already a senior? time flies.

Winston is clearly very talented; you don't put up the numbers he did in his debut unless you're a player. But the key with him - and all inexperienced qbs - is applying pressure. If you can't get to him with your DL then you have to by bring blitzes. How he reacts to being hurried and hit a few times will tell the story.

Moar homer talk. Figs couldn't beat out Armbrister

See u cant watch Christian Jones while ur on your knees sucking ****.... might want to lift ur head up next time.

Zorne,

You're the one who just said that Figs accomplished more in one game than Jones did all of last season. I like you, but you're crazy.

I used the word "impact" not "accomplished"

Chrisitan Jones is not an impact player bro..... Alex Figueroa and Thurston Armbrister make more impact plays during a game then he does.

Telvin Smith makes all of the impact plays at the LB position for FSU

Jones got in Savage's face numerous times as a pass rusher on 3rd downs. I'm not saying he's Derrick Brooks, but he's better than anyone else we have aside from Denzel right now.

Why not rip them apart if someone sees fit? Thats all alot of people did with the FAU performance. You for example went after Morris. If O'Leary drops his TDs and Coley hangs on to his then the stat lines for both QBs look a little different.

Seriously?

I'm not trying to **** on their performance against a team that probably would have beat FAU by the same margin as we did. To make myself feel better about were we are.

They have some issues, but their's is not as glaring as 4 and 14 on 3rd down, with only 1 3rd down conversion in the 2nd half of the game.

Nor does it compare to a SR QB that is suppose to be the next great in a long line of Cane QB looking less than avg vs a team that went 3-9 last year.

The fact is O'Leary didn't drop that pass, vs all the drops we had, and Winston didn't throw a pick to a wide open LB, like Morris.

Ripping them apart isn't going to change anything.

People feel that some how digging through what ever little flaw will change something.

Until we start playing better than them vs better teams, we have no need to even talk ****.

You know what else won't change anything is you coming here telling people that they should act respectful of a rival until we play better against better teams or whatever the **** you wrote. Like anything you say or anyone else says is gonna change the outcome of this season. I have the need to talk **** as a Cane fan because I hate everything about FSU. I will talk **** about them for as long as I'm breathing.

If you want to continue to compare us to them after one game in completely different environments and completely different opponents in Week 2(FSU has a bye then Nevada) then please go ahead. Compare FAU to Pitt in an unfavorable way if you want, but I guarantee FAU has better athletes in the secondary and wouldn't pay the same type of "respect" to FSU WRs as Pitt did. So many people are so damned quick to love up FSU after one game. A game against an outmatched opponent with Big East caliber athletes on defense. So scared of FSU blowing by them that they let Winston play a glorified 7 on 7 game against them. "Lets pay them respect they deserve guysm" *****'em

Winston played well, but it doesn't imply impending doom for the entire ACC.

I bet FAU had better athletes than, Mid Tenn, South Alabama, UL Monroe, UL Lafayette. Just 4 of the powerhouses that beat them a year ago, but Pitt who went into 3 overtimes with ND a year ago, just sucks vs FAU.

No one is loving FSU(other than ESPN), but whats the sense of talking **** about someone that went out destroyed their opponent? Outside of their DL not putting pressure on Pitt without a blitz package where did they go wrong?

QB 5 total TD, 90% completion

RB avg 6 yds a carry, and could have ran for more yards had the passing game not shredded them.

WR, and TE did their jobs

Defense got sacks, and TO, but i guess they sucked.

Looks like they did what they were suppose to do. Pound the **** out of Pitt.

While you're congratulating Pitt for losing to ND last year check out some of the other teams that beat them. Pretty sure they lost to Towson or some piece of **** team like that. You said they'd beat FAU as badly as we did, and I doubt that's true.

Pitt lost to Youngstown St. in their opener last year. The mighty Penguins.

Come on chise, i know you love this team, just like we all do, but come on man.

Pitt's a solid club, and Coach Chryst is a great football corch. They'll give fsu fits all night, and it wouldn't surprise me if they beat them. Don't forget that fsu's breaking in a whole new staff, and they have a freshmans QB. Not a great mix when playing a tough team on the road in your first game.

You posted that prior to FSU laying the beat down on Pitt. Now your claiming i am propping Pitt up, and you're playing them off to be scrubs.

The **** is pure comedy. Just like Toledo was going to carve up UF. Pitt was good enough in your opinion to probably beat FSU. Now Pitt is steaming doo doo, and when FSU looked good destroying them, People need to reach for stuff to tear them apart in order to feel better about what they have.

They did rather well breaking in a whole new staff, and a freshman QB, on the road in a packed stadium. Yes Pitt came out with fire for a min, but it was put out quickly.

If Pitt in your opinion could pull off a victory vs FSU, then saying you doubt they could beat FAU by the same margin we did is doubtful. Doesn't make much sense.

Nobody is slurping off FSU, but saying they played a **** good 1st game, with all they lost is not a stretch. With all we returned this year, are only change is our OC, but is that enough to throw off our OL, WR hands, and our QB mind in a vanilla offense?

FSU Recap

1. Winston is good. Need to see more but clearly has potential to be their best QB in a long time.
2. Offense - While they have many "playmakers" there offense clearly lacks a STUD like we have in Duke. Will be interesting to see what happens when teams see more game tape and make adjustments to Winstons game.
3. Defense - most importantly, there defense does not look nearly as strong as i had imagined. Replacing a lot of talented players, especially along the defensive line. Mario Edwards doesn't look prime time ready now if it all. Nkemdiche is already better and Clowney was MUCH farther ahead at the same points in the career. Their safeties are suspect in coverage and while their interior DL looks stout against the run, none of their players scare me from a pass rushing perspective. Pitt is a more traditional team and FSU will struggle when they are locked into bad matchups and a team has the no-huddle or tempo arrow in their quiver. Their LBs and S have trouble in pass coverage. There CBs are talented but young (other than joyner). There DL lacks a premier pass rushing threat. Talented teams with strong TE, RB, and deep WR corps should have field days through the air.

Should be an interesting year as i thought their Defense would be much more stout
