Who was our leading tackler? Shayon Green?
In 2012? Apparently it was Alex Figueroa. He also led the team in every single category and should have won the Heisman according to zorne.

He is a Senior and isnt that much "better" then the true Freshman, Alex FigueroaJones got in Savage's face numerous times as a pass rusher on 3rd downs. I'm not saying he's Derrick Brooks, but he's better than anyone else we have aside from Denzel right now.
I mean all he did was lead the team in tackles last year

Figs has proven nothing and Jones led a top 3 defense in tackles. So obviously Figs > Jones
If Jones is used like he was last night, he could possibly have a nice year.
Doesn't mean he is great, but could equal a nice season for him, and a pass rusher FSU is going to need in that scheme.
Seriously?
I'm not trying to **** on their performance against a team that probably would have beat FAU by the same margin as we did. To make myself feel better about were we are.
They have some issues, but their's is not as glaring as 4 and 14 on 3rd down, with only 1 3rd down conversion in the 2nd half of the game.
Nor does it compare to a SR QB that is suppose to be the next great in a long line of Cane QB looking less than avg vs a team that went 3-9 last year.
The fact is O'Leary didn't drop that pass, vs all the drops we had, and Winston didn't throw a pick to a wide open LB, like Morris.
Ripping them apart isn't going to change anything.
People feel that some how digging through what ever little flaw will change something.
Until we start playing better than them vs better teams, we have no need to even talk ****.
You know what else won't change anything is you coming here telling people that they should act respectful of a rival until we play better against better teams or whatever the **** you wrote. Like anything you say or anyone else says is gonna change the outcome of this season. I have the need to talk **** as a Cane fan because I hate everything about FSU. I will talk **** about them for as long as I'm breathing.
If you want to continue to compare us to them after one game in completely different environments and completely different opponents in Week 2(FSU has a bye then Nevada) then please go ahead. Compare FAU to Pitt in an unfavorable way if you want, but I guarantee FAU has better athletes in the secondary and wouldn't pay the same type of "respect" to FSU WRs as Pitt did. So many people are so damned quick to love up FSU after one game. A game against an outmatched opponent with Big East caliber athletes on defense. So scared of FSU blowing by them that they let Winston play a glorified 7 on 7 game against them. "Lets pay them respect they deserve guysm" *****'em
Winston played well, but it doesn't imply impending doom for the entire ACC.
I bet FAU had better athletes than, Mid Tenn, South Alabama, UL Monroe, UL Lafayette. Just 4 of the powerhouses that beat them a year ago, but Pitt who went into 3 overtimes with ND a year ago, just sucks vs FAU.
No one is loving FSU(other than ESPN), but whats the sense of talking **** about someone that went out destroyed their opponent? Outside of their DL not putting pressure on Pitt without a blitz package where did they go wrong?
QB 5 total TD, 90% completion
RB avg 6 yds a carry, and could have ran for more yards had the passing game not shredded them.
WR, and TE did their jobs
Defense got sacks, and TO, but i guess they sucked.
Looks like they did what they were suppose to do. Pound the **** out of Pitt.
While you're congratulating Pitt for losing to ND last year check out some of the other teams that beat them. Pretty sure they lost to Towson or some piece of **** team like that. You said they'd beat FAU as badly as we did, and I doubt that's true.
Come on chise, i know you love this team, just like we all do, but come on man.
Pitt's a solid club, and Coach Chryst is a great football corch. They'll give fsu fits all night, and it wouldn't surprise me if they beat them. Don't forget that fsu's breaking in a whole new staff, and they have a freshmans QB. Not a great mix when playing a tough team on the road in your first game.
You posted that prior to FSU laying the beat down on Pitt. Now your claiming i am propping Pitt up, and you're playing them off to be scrubs.
The **** is pure comedy. Just like Toledo was going to carve up UF. Pitt was good enough in your opinion to probably beat FSU. Now Pitt is steaming doo doo, and when FSU looked good destroying them, People need to reach for stuff to tear them apart in order to feel better about what they have.
They did rather well breaking in a whole new staff, and a freshman QB, on the road in a packed stadium. Yes Pitt came out with fire for a min, but it was put out quickly.
If Pitt in your opinion could pull off a victory vs FSU, then saying you doubt they could beat FAU by the same margin we did is doubtful. Doesn't make much sense.
Nobody is slurping off FSU, but saying they played a **** good 1st game, with all they lost is not a stretch. With all we returned this year, are only change is our OC, but is that enough to throw off our OL, WR hands, and our QB mind in a vanilla offense?

I agree the new scheme is set up for him to have more success, so we'll see how it turns out...
FSU has to now rely on him make sacks and put pressure on QBs b/c they've moved away from having a D-line that can create pressure on its own.

Only time fsu could generate any pressure was when they blitzed. They've gone away from the solid concept where they relied on the DL to generate pressure to this blitzing scheme where they're going to leave their DBs on an island. They'll be giving up a lot more big plays than they have in the recent past. I also want to see how a guy in his first ever gig as a DC is going to match up against a talented team and a good OC this year.

Do you put Coley in that category? I am still skeptical of him but we'll see...
Based on what we saw on Friday I don't think Coley has established himself as anything other than an average OC. We'll see what he has up his sleeve for Saturday. He's had 7 months to devise a gameplan for this defense.

And he has the benefit of having prepared for and played against this defense less than a year ago. Hopefully that familiarity will pay off for us.

I don't know if Coley is good or bad at this point. I'm one of the few who was happy with the fau game, but I'm not going to put all my eggs in a one-game basket.
LOL.... Pure comedy in here.
