For those who want to rush this thing

500 yards of offense is the kind of games that good BCS teams have on MAC type defenses. We are regularly giving up these yards to mediocre BCS teams. Miami = MAC team?

What so so many fail to accept...we are mediocre BCS, too. Our talent is mediocre (but getting better). Our coaches are struggling to get the best out of that mediocre talent. Our fanbase fracking blows chunks. We play in a dump in front of upwards of 4 figurines, guysm.

Everyone *****ing seems to forget this. Why in the seven ***** would any kid get excited or pumped up to go play in front of an empty stadium? That **** kills me man. Seeing those photos and knowing we have recruits at the game makes me wonder how in the **** Golden has the 6th ranked class right now. Living in Tallahassee and going to the Canes games when they play up here makes Canes games down there seem like a ******* joke there were probably as many Canes at the FSU game as there was at the VTech game. And I've got a months paycheck that 95% of you ******s *****ing about Dorito and our defense haven't attended one game.

I like bicho but it's being a little disingenuous when people state we don't have the talent to compete with the big boys. No one said we did. By moving the argument to the "we don't have the talent to compete for an MNC" you are essentially moving what the actual goal was of this season to win the argument. It's disingenuous at best. No one and I mean no one other than dbc thought we were actually going to the MNC when the season started.

We are arguing that we have the talent to win the coastal and play in the ACCCG. That was the goal before the season and even when we were 7-0 regardless of how excited everyone got thinking we had a shot (which deep down inside I'm sure no one really did) at the MNC. That's it. If you don't think we have the talent to win against teams such as UVA, wake, GT, VT, UNC, Pitt and duke well then there is no point in having this conversation because at that point you are making excuses for golden rather than looking at what is happening on the field.

Zone3Cane did. He claimed we could go toe to toe with Bama or FSU. Changed his tune a little now. As in a lot. As in hes the biggest ***** on this Site.

When Chad and Moten and company we are bringing in are physically ready to play and the defense still looks like this then you know there is a problem.

are you saying we can't determine there is a problem with the defense until the 2016 season?

jesus christ i hope the people that are in the decision making positions don't agree.

Exactly.

Golden's timeline keeps getting pushed further and further.

"We won't know until the 2014 class is physically read to play." Kiss my ******* ***.

Really glad school administrations aren't as stupid and as fickle or as fair weather as the Miami Hurricanes E-fan base.

Wow, only SIX players from that first class on the team (plus a kicker). So Golden is working with a bunch of Shannon´s players and some true frosh/sophs. Hadn´t realized just how bad it was.

And I´m not sure if you can really say that we have regressed. We are playing much better teams.

not me, then we might have done something in the last 10 years, or should i say 13 once we have decided to ditch this defensive scheme after the 2016 season.
i am glad you are content to let them sit on their hands and deliver this mediocre product we have become accustomed to though.

Or I'm content to let them fully install their players and schemes. Instead of calling for heads to roll when the core group of players playing are either Freshman/Soph or very mediocre players from Shannon's last class/the 6 remaining from Goldens first class.

Its funny how the criterion change for the excuse makers. 2 things. One no one, a mean no one thought we were a elite team. We are just asking that our defense doesn't get raped by the likes of Duke, BC UVA etc. Is that too much. Just don't get 500 yards and 40 points put on you. Jeez.

Next thing. Didn't Golden and D get great reviews fro turning 2 stars into first round picks and draftable players? So our jags should be like moving from burgers to dining out. Right? Not of these dudes on the DL have stepped up.....even Pierre who showed signs last year. Now its wait till we have our own players. We won't get *** raped just gang banged. Smh. Make your minds up are these guys good at talent development, do they just need players or are we doomed to watch this for 3 more years while they live off the credibility of staying here thru the NCAA crap?

So using your parameters, our last three recruiting classes ranked 36th, 9th, and 20th.

Yet we were in death matches with UNC, whose last three classes were 16th, 42nd, and 44th.

And Wake - 69th, 69th, and 58th.

**** kicked in by Virginia Tech - 33rd, 22nd, 23rd.

We were in slugfests down to the wire with awful UNC and Wake teams.

We got our asses kicked around the field at home against VT.

This is with more talent coming in than they had. So what does this staff need to win? Can we sneak our NFL guys onto the field? Will that be enough of a talent differential for them?

Problem is a majority of these fans became fans in the early 2000's when things were going really good. Now they sit on the computer all day and watch canesfreak2001's videos and think POOF we should automatically be like the team of the early 2000's

im convinced that morris' injury was significantly more serious than first reported. his mechanics remain poor because of who he is and because he remains injured. AG wont admit this so as to not have his QB targeted but i believe this is hindering him.

agree with the OP regarding talent. there is a vast lack of talent. plus the qb, our best WR and our best RB/player on the team are injured. big losses especially with no depth at any of those positions.

I don't know how Morris feels, but it pains ME to watch his footwork on throws. Lifting off his back foot because he can't push off basically neutralizes his "pro arm".

I know Golden and Coley want to have their senior QB in there, but getting Ryan in for some prolonged stretches (say, the 2nd qtr) of games would allow him some 1st team experience and let Morris come in for 2nd half. I find myself hoping he will get knocked out of the game with a left shoulder injury so Williams can play some meaningful moments. I don't think the ankle will recover before a bowl game and his play is too inconsistent. Obviously Coley et al won't make a change on their own.

Stop trying to undermine this thread with facts. Seriously, I, like most fans, am not upset because we lost to FSU, they are better than us right now and I can accept that. It's that we got our *** kicked by VT at home in a must win game and we have looked pathetic week after week against average to below average competition. Eventually you have to come to the realization that our coaches may not know what the **** they are doing.

Maybe with Duke, Dorsett & Scott on the field.. but that defense is as good as any team in CFB. We spotted them 21 points. Game over. There is a huge difference in raw talent and developed talent. The only upperclassman on this team (that played Sat night) who isn't a JAG is DP & Linder. If you want to count SM then fine but with his ankle/confidence issues.. JAG. Playing 18 & 19 year olds all over the field isn't what any coach wants.. especially in that type game.

Nobody is dumb enough to think we'd become national title contenders in two years. All we want is to put a respectable defense on the field. Defense is supposed to be Golden's background, right? So why does it look as ****** as it has?

No, we don't have elite players, but neither does GT, Wake, UNC (aside from Ebron) or VT and they did whatever they wanted to against us. Is it too much to ask for a respectable defense. A defense in the 50s and continuously falling isn't respectable and it's not OK to accept how bad it is.

You say we're jaded because we became fans in the early 2000s when Miami was elite and have unrealistic expectations. I say you're jaded because you watched Coker and Shannon for a decade and somewhere along the way being mediocre became ho-hum and acceptable.

Is it possible that the fault and blame is somewhere in between. Is it possible that we can allow people to think differently. I for one am still nauseous from VT and it has nothing to do with the 10 Dewars rocks last night. That doesn't mean we have to **** on each other every day.
