First Scrimmage Thread - BOOM

Matt Porter ‏@mattyports 3s

I'm told #Canes QBs Heaps and Kaaya were more or less even in scrimmage No. 1, which aligns with what I've watched all camp.

Hmm...

Is Porter reporting in a scrimmage he didn't see? Hypocrite much?

haha every single "media" that covers the Canes are literally tweeting out the whole scrimmage report part by part. it's ridiculous

Denzel Perryman was Miami's leading tackler with nine stops. The senior had three tackles for loss, including a huge hit on Joseph Yearby for a loss of two.

****. RIP Joe.

So, let me ask some of you this, you all seem so timid to start a true freshman at qb, but you would rather start a guy who failed at BYU and Kansas just because of his age? What good is experience if all you ever done at the college level is suck balls? Give me a clean slate and a high ceiling (Kaaya), over someone's soiled garbage (Heaps).

I would not start a guy just because of his age. The slate HERE for both is clean. You play the guy who is performing better, not only mechanically but also mentally. That may be Kaaya or it may be "someone's soiled garbage (Heaps)."

What I definitely not do is fail to give the hook to the guy who is looking lost out there, the guy who is missing on his throws, failing to find the open receiver, or the guy who runs out of bounds on fourth and goal (or third and one) because he doesn't want to get hit.

@smillerdegnan: #UM #Canes scrimmage is in the books. Dallas Crawford = beast. He took a 50-yard pick to the house to end scrimmage, per UM

Wow

Sane fans just want the best QB who gives us the best chance to win right now. Sane fans also realize that we are not in a good position to judge that based off not seeing practices and scrimmages and that the coaches are clearly in a superior position when it comes to that sort of information. Sycophants and retards are picking camps based on tweets.

The guy had a completion percentage of 48%. Seriously?!? He can't distance himself from an 18 year old, again seriously?!?! Also, what with all of this "he is working his butt off" business? What do you think Kaaya is doing? Smoking spliffs all day? That kid has been working hard too since he got on campus. Let the young man shine and stop using his age against him.

Wow

Wouldn't want to be stood up by Dallas and then demolished by Denzel. Double D on defense, watch for it they coming.

Typical ultra secret bs we're used to over the last decade. When you're good, you let the media and fans in. When you're not, this is what you get.

So FSU is not good? Because with few exceptions, Jimbo treats his practice facility like Fort Knox. GTFO

Yes, but in his case it is to make sure the players can get to their lawyers before the police question them.

Stats on their own (especially stats like comp% and team wins) are completely worthless. If you want to talk about Heaps being a bad player actually talk about his play and not what percentage of his passes were caught in plays you didn't see.

So the Miami coaches should be judging Jake Heaps base on his performance at Kansas? I mean, seriously, you have all these player busting their *** in camp, and you want them to give the job to Kaaya because of Heaps' BYU and Kansas resume.

How do you expect the other players on the team to respect the coach if Jake Heaps beat out Kaaya, and the Miami coaches started Kaaya over him. You don't think the players know who is playing best?

Nobody is using his age against him. Most fans are very excited about Kaaya. However, there is a reason many true freshmen aren't starting QB's at successful programs. College defenses are much more complex than high school defenses
