Finally Admit Lanning > Mario

I know you despise Mario, but trying throw in Pop Tarts bowl like a gotcha, when Mario had his QB out 2nd half, his top 4 WRs out, his #2 TE, his starting CB opted out(still have no explanation on that) isnt exactly fair.

Im sure you were fine with all those guys not playing also
What about the fact that they were even in the Pop Tart Bowl? Or is that a worthy prize in your estimation?

I think Lanning is really good, but any discussion comparing Oregon tenures has to take into account that: (1) you're allowed to pay players now; and (2) Oregon has the biggest budget in the sport by a good margin.
Well #1 applies to Miami as well. As for #2, either put up or shut up. Money wasn't the reason we lost 3 out of our last 4...an absolutely atrocious defense and lack of player development are.

Even with a limited budget, Mario could have, and should have, fielded a better defense. As for discipline, that doesn't cost anything...did you see any OSU player doing something so stupid as what Jacolby George does...in a critical moment no less

This company line written somewhere? How is it possible for clown after clown to regurgitate the same tired lie page after page. You deserve a pop tart trophy.
Look, I know you have Mario derangement syndrome. You're on this board (and other platforms) day after day, crying about him because you have nothing in life better to do.
I’m not a huge fan of Mario either but like TDS, your MDS has clouded your judgement.
So please, tell me what Lanning has done that Mario didn’t do at Oregon despite having every advantage at Oregon?

What other platforms? I'm usually here laughing.

Just because it was sponsored by Pop Tart now makes it sounf corny, but has always been a high level bowl, 2nd in ACC pecking order behind Orange Bowl. Now its highest non playoff bowl tied to ACC.

Worthy prize? I mean Miami played a much tougher ACC schedule than Clemson, and tougher than SMU. If they had all played same schedule I think Miami would have played SMU in title game, so the unbalanced schedule with large conferences irritates me more.

Clemson played 1 Top 7 ACC team this season, and they lost at home by double digits. Miami played 4 top 7 ACC teams, 3 on road.

All of that other than Cam pertained to the 1st half when we were leading at the half. Mario decided to kick a FG from the 2-yard line instead of riding with HIS OL...guess we're not as physical as he wants to believe. Whose fault is it that our backup QB flat out SUCKS...Mario. I guess you're fine with always closing the season with multiple losses in November and December

For all I/we know, Lanning is better. But the problem with this board is everyone wants to be first and make proclamations. A lot of coaches have looked really good and then time tells a different story. Take Lincoln Riley as an example. Or Charlie Weis or Ty Willingham, who were once the darlings of this board too. Heck, there was a lot of Norvell slurping last year too. Lanning has coached 41 games. Mario has coached 160. Easy to find flaws when you've been a head coach as long as Mario has vs. 3 seasons.

And the ACC is what, 2-9 in bowl games? Great, we played a tougher schedule than Clemson, but the ACC still sucks

Reasonable post.

And the reverse applies in that Lanning went to the CFP in his 3rd season as a HC and won double digits every season, or how about Kenny Dillingham winning the BIG12 and going to the CFP in just his 2nd season as a HC (following two consecutive 3-9 seasons no less). Mario should be better with all this experience under his belt, but just last year he didn't take a knee against GT, which he also did at Oregon, got manhandled by MTSU his 1st season here, blew a 21-point lead against Syracuse and kicked a FG from the 2-yard line in the prestigious Pop Tarts Bowl

Mario sucks regardless of Lanning.

Well said

Their talent acquisition is fuggin astonishing the last couple of years

And it’s what we talk about with recruiting classes. I don’t really care where the rankings for classes are, I care about average recruit ranking

They actually had the best average this year at almost 94 per player. Higher than even texas

That is playing on a totally different level than us

(Not sure if I have to qualify that Lanning >> Mario in my eyes or not)
