FBI Uncovers Massive NCAA Scandal, Miami Coach Investigated

I hope Coach L is completely exonerated. The problem for him is that the HC is ultimately responsible for what his assistants are doing. I fear that the only way Coach L is cleared is if Coach 3 is cleared. Coach L represents what's good about college sports. It would be a real shame if his legacy is tarnished by this.

Just too early to tell. No way do I think Coach L was involved. I'll take my chances with our staff is innocent

This is perfect logic without any flaws whatsoever. Clearly the FBI and the NY DA was out to get Miami because they didn't offer James Comey a basketball scholarship in 1977.

Gonna be honest here, the Comey theory does carry some weight. Especially when one realizes that we didn't even have an active hoops program when JC was coming out of high school- thus intensifying his soon to be lifelong vendetta against Miami.
 
Per NCAA, there's a presumption the HC is responsible but presumptions can be rebutted an Coach L's lawyer is making it look like he should be fine. coach L is literally the last coach in america that i'd figure would be involved in something like this.

I also highly doubt Caputo is involved - he's been always been loyal to coach L and would have a lot to lose since he's a rising star in HC circles and was already likely be a HC soon.

Disagree... totally different business model. Not to say football recruiting is clean, but it is more boosters. The end game in this scheme is for top draft picks to eventually sign with the shoe labels when they turn pro. That is not a thing with football players. The other side of it is the agents. These guys are putting a down payment for one-and-done guys, and start to get a return on that investment 6-9 months later. Football they would be waiting 3 years, minimum, and more likely 4 to 5.

Have a buddy in Louisville that says Jurich and Petino will be fired today. They expect the death penalty.

Goddammit, man, don't you realize that Comey keeps copious notes of all of his interactions, and that in 1977 he met with Dr. Henry King Stanford, where he asked Dr. King Stanford to reinstate the basketball program, and in turn Dr. King Stanford asked for Comey's ongoing loyalty?

This incident has been the basis of Comey's well-known vendetta against UM ever since. The FBI even has a permanent office in the Max Orovitz Building from which they have conducted investigations since the late 1980s. Everyone knows this, and it is so obvious.

Louisville head basketball coach Rick Pitino has told members of his coaching staff that he expects to lose his job over allegations that the Cardinals basketball program is involved in a federal investigation into fraud and corruption in college basketball recruiting.

A source told ESPN's Michael Eaves that Pitino "knows it's coming" after a staff meeting of the basketball coaches Wednesday morning in Louisville.
