there is zero we need players excuse three years into a regime of a recruiting HC. if thats the case, just end this era completely bc it'll never happen.

I can’t comment on the coaching staff cohesion as I’m not in the know about those things - however I do trust that if you’re highlighting this, it’s more than likely an issue. I’m just not sure if burning the thing down to the ground is the right answer - especially when the next hire would most likely come from within and be a 1st time FBS DC in either D’Nich or JTaylor. And I have no inside information on the possible replacement (if Guidry moves on) but it’s simply what I believe Mario would do.

Another reason I say Guidry stays is because he was just given an extension of some sort this past offseason, and he was given that because the consensus was that he’d done a pretty good job thus far. I may be wrong, but I just cannot see Mario moving on from him unless there has been absolutely egregious conduct affecting staff cohesion and play on the field.

If this is simply about the scheme/coaching and how it miscommunication resulted in poor play on the field - I ultimately think that a 10 or 11 win season would warrant another go at especially considering that the overall team talent level and culture will continue to increase.

it was a 10 or 11 win team bc of the offense. thats it. there is nothing that was done on D that contributed to it.

fire the entire d staff.

If that happens, then we’ve got bigger problems than Guidry.

Playing winning November football is HARD guys - there’s a reason why annually the same teams are amongst those with 10 wins or more at the end of the regular season. If everyone could do it, everyone WOULD do it.

Other teams have film and opponents are actively helping future opponents to scheme against you - like everyone doesn’t share film with everyone, which is a huge misconception.

Going 10-2 is a very successful regular season gents - and I know we all wanted the ACCCG berth/title opportunity but Guidry vs Cal, and Guidry vs Wake, and Guidry vs Duke gave us the chance to be in it going into the Cuse game. Heck, one could argue that Guidry vs Ga Tech was a stellar performance seeing how those guys went 8OTs vs Georgia.

I just cannot sit here and say Guidry wasn’t apart of our 10-2 campaign- can he be better with what he had available, ABSOLUTELY. Was it fireable, I do not think it was.

we haven't played defense once all year. dude, we were the second worst conference scoring defense. Guidry didnt have a hand in 10-2. Cam Dawson and Mario did.

Guidry got smoked by Duke until the fourth. it was literally only close bc of him. lol Tech ran for nearly 300 yards on us telegraphing their entire playbook based on QB.

he was as bad as donofrio

i think our line play got better as the year progressed ... lyle showed elite traits ... he and fletcher make a nice tandem ...

defensively, you got good snaps for moten jr., oj, popo, pruit ... scott got his feet wet ... really like where we are at cb

what annoys me is last year it was all Dawson even tho TVD was horrible.
this year giudry needs new players. He clearly can't recruit. just can this guy.

It'll depend on the money.

That's all it is today and the rest is just people trying to rationalize the old way of doing things (relationships and on field results, plus NFL production) versus what it currently amounts to.

Mario was better this year. guidry was a disaster.

Dawson still put up numbers even w TVD tanking games. my gripe w Dawson is the run scheme but idk if its Dawson or Mario philosophy there.
