What are you talking about ? Toney is really good. What does him reclassifying have to do with anything. SMH
Nope he was sold like some massive recruiting win
After were missing on all the top wr targets left and right

no he wasn’t. Kids very respected. Who did we miss on? Brown and Dallas wilson were only ones we were after. We moved on from French when he thought he was Jeremiah smith.

i hope you are right
i just dont hold the same optimism
this WR class is downright abysmall given our product on the field

We clowned FSU for finishing this same exact way last year. Then they followed it up by cheaping out in the portal. Only way to salvage this is by being aggressive there, or else we’re in big big trouble.

Can’t strike out on both.

Let’s see if we’re different.
They hit on a lot of names in the portal. That just didn’t translate to results. They invested in the portal plenty tho and just missed too much

So keep Guidry around because... he's already here? This is like saying I may as well keep my miserable cheating wife around because her clothes are already hung up in the closet and she has some things in the medicine cabinet
That was hilarious lol.

On a serious note, I’m just not the type to have knee-jerk reactions. I believe that two things can be true at the same time - Guidry could’ve done a better job this season, however, we all knew the secondary was a question mark coming in, and it proved to be the weakness of our DEF.

I’d like to see how Guidry and the DEF performs when the secondary is addressed - that would be 3 complete seasons with Guidry if he came back next year, and to me, it’s a good enough sample size to determine his entire body of work.

That's a fair and rational assessment. Genuinely wish I could be more like you.

It's a circular reference, cause guidry ain't going to land any talent after this years product.

I just hope you guys understand that we are going to have to overspend in the portal to offset this.

You can’t have it both ways. You can’t say we’re not overspending in HS, but then all of a sudden we land portal guys and say they wanted to come here all along…no, we likely out-bagged teams.

If we don’t land either our top targets in HS or the portal, you’ll know the boosters think Mario is BBQ chicken here. And to be quite frank, he would be - after all, his main thing is talent acquisition, right?
Honest question, If player x has an offer for $50k from FSU, $55k from UGA, and $65k from us... then a week before signing day UF comes and offers $100k for that player, is that the same as us not being willing to spend to you? Now I'm just making the numbers up, but I'd bet that is basically pretty much the situation for Stubbs or Moore or something...

Like I've said repeatedly, any program can make a single guy "the guy" that they are willing to spend so much on you basically have no shot unless you're also going to just be dumb with your money to match them... Now that is more about like how Missouri or South Carolina can sign a couple 5 star guys and then not do so much in recruiting except for them. We did better as a whole, but could we match them going all in for one guy when on average we are spending more on 20+ guys?

With UF which I've been saying for weeks now that they literally were just adding the buyout money to their NIL budget. Okay well if every program is dedicating $20M and then out of nowhere all in 2 weeks before NSD one school decides their budget is going to be $25M (a 25% increase), well its going to be quite tough to match what they're willing to spend on a couple of specific guys.

And obviously for some players thats just what you got to do. Like for a QB for instance. Sometimes you just gotta swallow it and get that major impact guy and it ***** you for other positions. Thosea re the tradeoffs that need to be decided. HOWEVER, The problem is overspending out of HS inherently IS more risky for actual on-field results than the portal - and it's almost a certainty that the immediate results won't be as good per dollar spent.. But it's actually more than that because Drastically overspending is probably downright dumb - and that's the situation we are facing with guys we are competing with UF for right now.

I'd say the problem is we need to have a far wider net of who we are recruiting in case a school ends up willing to just drop a massive bag over our heads. What if we were still going hard for Jerome Myles and Tanook Hines (1 of which just decommitted to usc) at WR, what if we were still after Currie, Gilbert, Manfred, Mcnutt, Clardy, etc at DB... We could probably transition and "overspend" but perhaps only a slight overspend for one of these guys instead of even trying to match UF...

I think if there were no issues off the field in terms of all getting along and there weren't a **** load of miscommunication problems, you could be right. I think Guidry is a good coach. But clearly this situation has just become untenable. If the Defensive Coaches aren't all on the same page and the players are playing like ****, there isn't much option. Again people want to point to issues with actual talent at DB and LB - okay, thats valid. But why has our Expensive and extremely talented DLine been garbage? That's fireable....

Guidry has to go, wish him the best, but don't let the door hit you on the way out. Full stop

what makes you believe hes a good coach based on everything we've seen here this year? theyre not even adjusting pre snap

you lose all your studs on D(in terms of talent) if you retain him. the culture is a mess on the defensive side of the ball

and this is his first taste of a p4 job and hes produced the worst defense in school history combined with some horrific coaching blunders in game.
He’s a clown. People say he needs players and he clearly can’t recruit. Looks at our offenses. We aren’t struggling to recruit like field, no one wants to play for a fat goofball wigger.
