So now our recruiting is trash again......you guys are too **** hard to keep up with!

we suck again GIF
It's been trash. If you look at the whole picture now that July is over, we just keep landing one or two guys to stop the bleeding.

It was trash, then we landed Riley to make it respectable. It was trash again, then we landed Lightfoot for some badly-needed momentum. Not a peep from another blue-chip until Trader and Jones b2b signaled to many that hey, maybe we're going to get cooking now.

It's been nearly three weeks since then. Our class is now 17th, with Auburn, Arkansas, Texas probably going to jump us at some point. Our average recruit ranking is 89.40...that's 21st. We're out here spinning Albert Einstein at center as a highly-touted pickup because he camped well at NC St and Rutgers, and yet didn't receive offers from those schools.

You guys can defend what you want...this is unacceptable under Mario. I'm not even asking for Top 5 classes - but he was brought in to recruit better than any of our predecessors...at least Top 12, preferably Top 10 classes with ease. If his recruiting sucess is also tied to winning...then why did we hire him? What would make him better than Kiffin, Freeze, Stoops, Herman, etc.? Those guys could recruit like this with a U on their chest, lord knows Freeze is the hottest commodity right now.

Better win eight games, or we're in trouble.

At this point the staff and us need the season to start ASAP. They not running away from 5-7, if by reports NIL is fine. Both Jackson gone, Rudolph, Scott and Jackson now Stewart, all had multiple visits, plus OV'd. If yall know me, i dont be hyperbolic about shyyt thats not necessary. Striking out on what u said u poured all energy into......mal. @DMoney does it apply to question "Miami feels good here"?
Staff is getting played HARD this cycle. Granted, not much they can do to prove that last seasons 5-7 was just a fluke. We need the season to start and we need to look fu***** good from the jump. That A&M game is going to be MASSIVE for us.

All I kept hearing from certain posters a few months ago trying to deflect from our QB recruiting woes was about how we were going to land the most epic DL class in the country.

We were allocating most of our NIL money to stack the DL class with elite talent across the board, they said. Stewart was at the very top of our overall board. While we wouldn’t “overpay” for some of the recruits we lost battles for, it was because guys like Stewart were far more important.

Well, look at us now with a class 2/3rds comprised of commits ranked 3* or lower with gaping holes at QB & CB and no solution at those premier positions in sight. We just lost the battle for the recruit at the very top of the board. OL recruiting in this class compared to last year’s haul looks as different as night and day.

Mario better win 9+ this season with no humiliating losses or else this is heading in a very obvious direction.

The crazy narratives people push on this board to avoid just not seeing what is obvious.

“Miami is purposely going after 3 year projects at QB.”

“Miami is purposely taking all of these 3* guys because they are at the top of Mario’s Board.”

And our average is 89.4 because the new guy isn’t rated yet so they won’t lower the average til he is. Like you said, we been ****, and anyone paying attention and that isn’t a mark/gullible would have seen that.

I understand it is not as good as last year, but I firmly believe if we roll out a solid product on the field this season, you will see flips. It is August, not convinced this guy, or multiple others will stick where they are "committed" to currently. I think we can improve significantly, or on the flip side, another 5-7 season could destroy what we have......but I am not throwing in the towel yet.

I did love JB but he can't throw lol. Hopefully this offense is easy for him quick throws. A good OC can do things with him but he ain't no NFL QB. Great kid though one of the best kids when it comes to character. Love his interviews he seems chill and coachable asf.
Jordan Travis was exactly like JB 2 years ago. Good coaching changes things.

You won’t.

All I want from CIS is to be objective & start following trends. Many posters have become afraid to even voice their opinions, frustrations, or valid concerns on here b/c The White Knight Crew feel it’s their civic duty to label, chastise such ones.

Any objective fan could simply follow the trends of this particular cycle & start putting pieces together. I’ve been very specific & consistent about 1st yr bumps and to stop trying to compare the 2023 class w/ 2024. I’ve also been very consistent about not just our 5-7 record, but how we went 5-7. Unfortunately, it is a black mark on us.

The beautiful thing about recruiting, however, is it doesn’t end w/ a verbal. Is it more difficult? Yes, but if we can put together a nice season, some of these heartbreaks may just come back around.

That's the thing though...why is it tied to the season's results in just year 2? Mario was brought in to recruit with his eyes closed, winning football games was secondary (especially early on).

If those two are already tied at the hip (thanks to a disastrous year 1), well then god speed and we better win 8-9 games; because if we go 7-5 or worse this year, we're going to be stuck in purgatory for the next decade.

Well that's what good coaching does. Which we haven't had for 20 years & I'm not sure we have now either. Worse players then JB have been developed before.
I felt like they found and hit on the eval of JT. U can do well with a non NFL QB in college especially if they are Duel Threats.. u need the rest of it to work.

Mmmm I don't know man. I can't say cause I didn't see JT had no clue who he was.

He was beyond bad his first 2 years. He went 4/14 his first year at Louisville and was a very undersized, lightly recruited prospect.

Much different types of players, Jordan was smaller and shiftier and Jacurri is more of a fullback, but they both used their legs in HS to win and were very limited passers.

Even in his 3rd year in college, in 2020 at FSU, Travis completed 55% of his passes with 6 TDs and 6 picks. He was terrible. He improved a ton.

He was God awful 2 years ago. Couldn't complete a pass. They actually only used him for running situations. Norvell fixed him & now he will be drafted as an NFL QB. Same thing needs to happen with JB. These coaches get paid lots of $$$. Make it work. Period.

We all need to check our expectations. We went 5-7 while fielding the worst offense in school history and a defense that wasn't much better but we expected to land this ridiculous DL class full of out of state kids.

As far as QB, why would any top QB come here after what we fielded last year and not to mention we haven't had a QB go in round 1 since Vinny but we mad that a kid chose Ohio State over us lol We are a very delusional bunch. Until **** changes on the field and we start winning and producing high draft picks we aren't just going to magically land top 5 classes every year.
