Donna Dangles: We Skate

I don't know why anyone is angry. This is WONDERFUL. You have to understand they still have to go thru the motions because that is the actual process. Other schools would be up in arms if they didn't do that. But make no mistake this is a dog and pony show going forward. There will still be a NOA and a COI hearing but it's pretty much worked out behind the scenes. It's going thru the motions at this point.

Well said..

if they drop this altogether on us then PSU and USC want theirs dropped too. I would think we'll see some "sanctions."

UM will not let anything further happen to them. theyve said it already w them mentioning no more classes will be affected by the investigation. they will take action if the nCAA tries to drop anything on them

@BryanDFischer: The kicker in all of this: An NCAA investigator purchased a burner phone to communicate with Nevin Shaprio in prison.

Wow.

For those of you upset right now because the NCAA didn't come out today and waive the white flag.

The legalese in the press release amounts to "we're a bunch of dirty facks and we just don't want anybody to dig to deep into this and trumpet it to the world." Actions like the burner phone won't be focused on unless they hammer us further and force Shalala to sue them and cause a huge media stir. NCAA should be in safe mode right now and will try to quietly end all this before their crookedness makes front page everywhere

NCAA seems to think they have 75 other interviews that are not tainted and 80% of all evidence collected will still be used..

Moss is the only one and KW that might still have fugged up.

We will punish you if you have rogue boosters...but do not dare question our integrity if we have rogue members in our organization

Guys, the way I am reading it, this is all good news. Its all out and can't be used against us. Sean Allen testimony, both under seopena and voluntarily...out. Including anything derived as fruit from a poison tree ie: anything discovered illegally and subsequently confirmed independently. Lawyers, tell me if I am wrong?

I asked Emmert abt his own accountability in light of his underlings *****-ups & looking hyprocritical. He passed it on to Exec Committee.

CBS4 Miami ‏@CBSMiami
UM: NCAA has excluded at least 25 interviews from the UM investigation. Process still going forward. No timetable for NOA..

This is so unacceptable. Just absolutely insane that this garbage is still lingering and affecting yet another recruiting class...

NCAA says "select" personnel in the wrong. So much for accountability. Start the bus, so Emmert can "select" those he'll throw under it!

Shalala needs to do something. Enough is enough.

80% of the information is still good...how can that make anyone feel better?

80% according to who? The NCAA?

It needs to be understood that the NCAA is merely trying to save face by saying they will move forward with the case. For their own survival, they must act like this whole thing has not been a waste. This is like the Iraqi prime minister holding a press conference to say everything is fine, nothing to see here, we are fighting off the Americans while bombs go off behind him and American troops tear down the statue of Sadam.

The NCAA in reality has no leg to stand upon anymore with regards to this case. This investigation is tainted beyond saving. If this ever saw the light of day in a court room, it would be thrown out entirely based upon the "fruit of the poisonous tree" doctrine. I've seen multiple cases thrown out for much, much, much less.

@ByTimReynolds
Not only did the NCAA pay Shapiro's attorney, they also paid Shapiro. Think of it that way.

The fact that there is "no timetable set for the NOA" is absolute bull****

NOA will prolly arrive within a week.....an expedited review by COI will come thereafter. Patience......let the dog and pony show do its work.

@BobLeyESPN
Mark Emmert terms this matter a 'debacle', says there's no evidence of a crisis of confidence from NCAA membership.

funny joke
