This is a big mistake unless we gettin Amon Richards..one of the fastest kids
in the county
If we dropped him, it's a dumb decision.
I am excited about Richt and think he's a great recruiter, but his record as an evaluator is mixed. This would be highly disappointing if we dropped him.
We have more pressing needs like OL, DT, and CB. I wouldn't mind keeping him, but there's always a desmond phillips in south florida every cycle.
Just like Richt said in his presser....we can't take everybody.
suck it up and get over it.
i love how richt just started and everyone is already criticizing him.
We need 4 or 5. Most importantly, we need speed and playmaking ability. Phillips brings that.
Five of the Top 25 receivers in the NFL are three stars or below from South Florida. Antonio Brown, TY Hilton, John Brown, Allen Hurns and Travis Benjamin.
Only three of the Top 25 were five-star receivers.

13 are 4* and 5*
So about half are three stars and two stars. Not sure how that helps your argument.
And the point wasn't about five stars versus three stars. Of course the five stars are better on average. The point is that South Florida produces a disproportionate amount of underrated studs, especially at receiver. You have to take that into account every time you evaluate a local kid.

Bruce and Mullins don't?
And if we close with big fish like Richards?
he put 87 kids in the nfl
Stars matter, don't kid yourself. Alabama, Fsu, osu, Clemson ain't winning with a bunch of 3stars... Signing a bunch of fringe 3star prospects to fill up a class from Miami is ok and all but this isn't fiu and it hasn't gotten us anywhere but have a lot of dead space on the roster while we wait for that "potential" to show up in college... Truth hurts but it is what it is.. This man richt knows what he's doing. He annually brought in top 5 and top 10 recruiting classes at Uga.

Miami has more kids in the NFL than Georgia, and nobody is calling Coker, Shannon and Golden great evaluators.
Again, I like Richt and am excited to see what he does with this class. But we shouldn't blindly trust his evaluations.
IMO you don't n't necessarily have to fill all 85 spots this year. . Leave some room for some studs after Richt has had a whole year to recruit.. Don't just fill them with bodies.. Who knows we may get some NSD surprises

Last I checked Michigan St. is doing it with lower ranked kids.. they have a bunch of 2 and 3 stars sprinkled in with some 4's
