Defensive Scheme vs Talent

It's for the best because you sure as **** aren't making a coherent argument. Just proving you have an agenda.

The only agenda anyone here has is for Miami to win. The people who keep pulling the agenda card for no reason are the people with the team agenda.

Yeah, you Dorito bashers are just keeping it real. Want to see Miami win by bashing one of the guys here to rebuild it from the dumpster that the incompetent one who shall not be named left the program in.

Hey maybe if you keeping it realtards scream it loud enough from the mountain tops of your keyboard the coaching staff at Miami will allow you to run the defense? Just we need as fans of Miami, Nites or Wildcat running the defense.

The reality is this...d'ohnofrio has not had a defense that has stooped any note worthy opponent or even accomplish anything of note. That's the reality. You can talk about scoring defnese all day but what has he done against good teams in his career rather it be here or at temple?

Maybe you can point something out to me because I haven't seen his defnese do anything that will lead you to believe he can do anything here. Shutting out 1-10 Akron does not move me. It may do something for you but not me.

Haven't even mentioned scoring defense you mental midget. Now run along and get banned again for being the ******* moron that you are so we can all talk big boy football okay cupcake? Don't need your stupidity clogging up good conversation so close to football season Nites.

Well than sound like it because so far your BS theories don't hold weight. This Dorito bashing circle jerk that a few of you subscribe to is based on stupidity.

Just back and let some real coaches show you how it's done corch.

Get your frequently-bobbing-head out of your ***, little boy. I'm not "bashing" D'Onofrio. I've been completely objective in everything I've ever said.

All of my points are valid and make perfect sense. And none of my opinions (or concerns) are definite, they're just questions and/or concerns. I've never once said "this, this and this will or won't happen".

Your whole "thing" is to call people idiots every time they make a point that you don't agree with. You don't actually debunk anything anybody says, EVER. You don't like my "BS theories" but you've never once said anything to debunk them, you just throw around insults like an angry little girl.

You said players in South FL don't fit the 3-4 scheme. I mentioned Wilfork being the best NT to play in a 3-4 and you said "Players like Wilfork don't grow on trees". I then reminded you that Wilfork grew from a South FL tree. I said I could on and on and you asked me to but I don't have time to put together a list of all of the South FL talent that have played or are playing in a 3-4 defense in the NFL. It would take to long and I wouldn't want to here all of the excuses as to how those types of players don't grow on trees.

Like I said, your BS theory that South FL talent can't play a 3-4 defense is just that. But you already know that because you ran one correct? Keep making sense bruh...

First of all...

Didn't say they "can't" play in a 3-4.

Second...

You don't have time, my ***. You just can't think of anybody else. You don't have time to list some more players but you have time to constantly talk **** on here post after post? Gimme a fvckin' break.

Your dumb *** is talkin' about the NFL. Well ****, EVERYBODY that goes to the NFL can play in a 3-4. THAT'S WHY THEY'RE IN THE NFL!!! They draft the best-of-the-best. We're talkin' about Miami grabbing kids from South Florida, not the NFL grabbing the best-of-the-best from around the country.

FACT: Most South Florida high school kids don't play in the 3-4.
FACT: Most South Florida high school kids aren't accustomed to engaging blockers and/or 2-gapping.
FACT: Most South Florida high school kids play in speed-based penetration schemes.
FACT: South Florida is a speed region, not a brute strength region.
FACT: What we're doing on defense is an adjustment from what the kids in South Florida have been doing their whole life.

Do all of these things mean that what Golden and D'Onofrio are doing WON'T work? Not at all. However, most likely it means that kids will take longer to contribute once they get here.

And in my opinion, it also makes evaluations more difficult. If you're watching countless South Florida high school Defensive Lineman shoot gaps, how are you able to get a real idea of whether he can play in your more physical scheme or not? You've never seen him do what YOU are asking him to do.

I'm not saying it can't work, or will never work, all I'm saying is that it's like Wisconsin trying to run a speed-based offense.

Let me tell you something, if Bama can run a hybrid 3-4 defense then Miami can most certainly run a 3-4 defense. Sounds like you have all of these doubts because no one has given you any proof to be positive. Do you really want me to produce a list of players that play in the NFL that are from the state of Miami? You saying that of course those players can play in a 3-4 because they're in the NFL is straight up ****ing stupid. The state of Miami produces more NFL talent than any region in the entire USA. Again, this conjured up BS theory that South FL talent can't play in a 3-4 defense is BS. You yourself already stated you ran a 3-4?

Now how about some info I've been keeping back just to allow enough rope for you Dorito haters to hang yourself? You keep talking about South FL talent? I guess you haven't figured out that at any point in time where Miami has dominated they've done so because they have recruited well nationally? This idea that South FL recruiting makes or breaks Miami is just another load of BS from people who don't get it. Get it corch?

Like I said, sit back and relax and watch real coaches coach corch.

dude just give it up.

Everything Wildcat is saying is correct.

This alone can be compounded by the fact that we cant get a dt worth a sh*t from s.fla to commit to play @ the u the last 2 years..and your thinking we produce defensive lineman consistently for um in our core recruiting ground(s.fla)...Right now our dt or nose prospect is a little known kid from New Jersey.

Bama can run it..because their in the deep south that produces a ton of dl prospects, add to it Saban recruits that spot like nobodies business...he is national with it and offers EVERYBODY...their at the top of the college football world..and STILL have to supplement with jUCO'S.

Sfla recruiting doesnt make or break anytging but it is our CORE foundation...add to it our national brand, has fell off the map...were not bama or nd @ this point.

Their going to try to make it work and be multiple..but as far as our recruiting base..s.fla...we dont consistently produce the LB's/DL's to run a 3-4...why the **** u think none of the fla schools run it...heck were the only one that run the look as much as we do.

SMH. Another post full of nonsense. Doesn't debunk a single thing I said.

down the line though in our defense i see some SERIOUS fast twitch OLB's....Mike Smith, AQM, Mccray.

Actually like the "multiple" stuff.....run diff schemes against diff teams....switch up with packages...those stuff i do likebout C oach D's scheme...only problem i see is that it is REACTIONARY...even though its multiple it isnt an aggresive scheme...it wasnt even @ Temple. If dude can get agressive with blitz packages with some of the guys theyve recruited in the last two classes...the defense will look extremely good.

Every year i'd like to see us hit that waiver wire though and graba juco lineman or a post grad....Bama brings in the juco guys every year to supplement...its something i want us to do...so guys like Earl Moore can redshirt and get their face in the play book and weightroom...Earl Moore shouldnt ply past FAU game this yr....if they do were doing him a disservice.

I don't know if I buy this.

Khairi Clark, Jaynard Bostwick, and Keith Bryant chose to go elsewhere and play in similar schemes.

Are we really turning down a bunch of stud D-linemen because of our scheme?

It looks to me like we're recruiting big guys with speed at all of the front 7 positions.

Let's see who took significant snaps (and most started) on that defense because everybody I listed played multiple years in the NFL. Some are still playing.

Kareem Brown, Orien Harris, Kenny Phillips (Freshman AA), Calais Campbell, Kelly Jennings, Rocky McIntosh, Leon Williams, Jon Beason, Baraka Atkins, Brandon Meriweather.

You and I will never see eye to eye. I don't believe your theory that South FL talent can play in a 3-4. When Miami's defense gets rocking under Coach D we'll come back to this so I can say I told you so.

Maybe you can point something out to me because I haven't seen his defnese do anything that will lead you to believe he can do anything here. Shutting out 1-10 Akron does not move me. It may do something for you but not me.

Haven't even mentioned scoring defense you mental midget. Now run along and get banned again for being the ****ing moron that you are so we can all talk big boy football okay cupcake? Don't need your stupidity clogging up good conversation so close to football season Nites.

Not one thing I said was debunked. Lol

Not a single **** was given with anything you say Nites...

Yeah, you Dorito bashers are just keeping it real. Want to see Miami win by bashing one of the guys here to rebuild it from the dumpster that the incompetent one who shall not be named left the program in.

Makes no sense to get all mad and defensive simple be use you can't debunk facts presented to you or even back up anything you say with examples. A wise person would remain silent.

English muthafugger! Do you speak it?

Congrats guys. Someone took the time to make a good post to get a football discussion going. But you didn't let that deter you from turning another thread into a lame internet slap-fight. Way to persevere.

I'm surprised NewKirkNites hasn't brought up how Jim Harbaugh should be our coach.

WCD: you used to say on multiple occasions there was "nothing wrong with our S and C program".....How can anything you say be taken seriously?

I dislike our system. I think it's a lot of effort to get results that a simpler one gap scheme could in less time.

But the idea that S. Fla players "can't play in it" is assinine. First of all, the DBs need to be fast in any system. Secondly, the only DL in the NFL we have who are worth a **** were able to learn to play 2 gap, and make the probowl doing so.

The days of a Sean Spence size LB are extinct in the NFL, and more and more in college too.

Never said that nothing was wrong with our S&C. I was objective about the S&C issue and presented cases from both sides, just like I am here. It turns out that I was correct with my stand on the S&C issue cause my main point was that it was a cultural thing, which started from the top.

Things I say can be taken seriously because anybody that's ever had an actual football conversation with me KNOWS that I'm knowledgeable. I know my ****, plain and simple, I just have different opinions than some people occasionally.

Nobody said that South FLA kids "can't" play in it. Read my points on South FLA kids and the 3-4 and feel free to shoot holes in my theory. I'll wait.
