DAY 3 PRACTICE THREAD

Owens will make us a faster defense Ill like that. Who is he battling with?

Until Al force feeds him until he's 290 and puts him at the 5 technique along with the rest of the roster per his grand scheme to intentionally sabotage his players' draft stock.

Chad is already 260 and has a frame to fill out. With the premise that the 3-4 will be here as long as Golden is, there is nowhere else Chad could be except at the 5, unless you want him to switch positions after 1 year.

There is no way that kid stays at 260 regardless of the scheme with that frame. Any guy is gonna gain weight in a college S and C program with a training table. Chad is already near the outermost limits for a college 3-4 OLB without going thru even a single UTough. He's only 17-18 pounds less than Chick as a true freshman vs. a senior. He's going to be in the high 280s when he fills out....and that would be true if he was at bama too.

Sarcasm bro. Sarcasm.

Chad told the staff that he does not want to be more than 260. he seen what they did to chick, he not dumb.

Weight isn't the reason Chickillo isn't a quick-twitch rush end. His best qualities has always been his relentlessness and strength to set the edge. Chad Thomas has Chickillo's size, BUT the guy has a much quicker first-step off the line and is much more athletic coming off the edge.
Go back and watch chicks high School highlights. Dude was crazy fast.

Lmfao no he wasn't.

My bad....didn't see the sarcasm.

Anyway this front will be straight up nasty pretty soon. And the front three will be a pain in the *** to deal with.

I know ROK likes starting lineups.....this possible lineup for 2015 should make him harder than a....ROK.

E Thomas
N Wyche and Jenkins
E Moten
R AQM and McCord
W Grace
M Young
S Owens

Only Miami fans would say Chad Thomas should hold his weight at 260 for three to four years and then blame the coaching staff when he'll actually turn into a 285 monster DE. Guess what if he went to Bama they'd be putting on the exact same weight and not holding him at 260. Some of y'all are hilarious.

Lol @ chick wuz crazy fast

If the comp between Kaaya and Heaps is close. You gotta go with Heaps and redshirt Kaaya

Don't understand that logic. If a 5th year senior can't seperate himself from a true freshman, he shouldn't get the job.

And we're not talking about your average freshman. He's a cerebral 6'4 220+lb freshman, that's main attribute isn't athletic ability, it's pocket presence, timing and accuracy... That's even more uncommon

Staff wants an experienced QB, someone who isn't going lose a game like a Frosh could. People need to really temper the hype on Kaaya it's only three days in practice and y'all crowning him in shorts.

I fully believe Kayaa more poise then Heaps. When these boys flying around in pads. Heaps better be able to take the heat.

If Kevin Olsen's name was Kevin Smith he would've been a 3 star recruit who signed with a mid major.

He's never really shown anything above average talent.

That is so not true. I love how fans always say this after the fact. He flashed at the Elite 11 camp and was highly recruited b/c of his talent in high school. His name had nothing to do with it, other than giving Miami a leg up b/c of his brother.

He finished 10th out of 11 QB's at The Elite 11 camp.

On top of that he looked terrible at The Under Armor game.

In reality, he was no better a prospect than Stephen Morris coming out of High School. He just has a better name and a football family background.

I'm not gonna even bother. Lol. Morris when we took him initially was considered to be a depth guy, he just ran into luck that Teddy didn't end up here.

Olsen way better prospect, this is beyond hilarious. Olsen was regarded as top 5-10 QB by all sites. He was no push over at all.

If anything, Morris overachieved here, can ask anyone way back, only thing people saw in Morris was an arm. Everyone looked at him as depth.

I think the only one that liked him was Whipple.

Really don't care who starts as long as they get the job done. I believe Heaps will get the nod. He was brought in for a reason. Golden isn't the type to throw in a true freshman so I don't think it will be Kayaa. I am also not ready to run off a redshirt freshman because he isn't quite ready to be the starter. We need the depth, don't want to end up with the mess we had after Marve bolted.

Kaaya looks more like Andrew Luck than Peyton. Think you gotta hand him the keys to this Porsche. Between Duke, Walford (who is gonna explode this year) and the veteran talent at wideout, I think it's the ideal scenario for a freshman to make the transition to college. Kaaya is gonna put Coley against Al if Heaps can't perform. I think it will show us all if Al is the man long term. We can't endure another season like last. No excuses anymore. Put up or go back North. Go Canes

Dont get me wrong I love CIS but the armchair experts that come out of the wood work make me lol. The assertion and conclusions made from 8-10 sec clips, coaching quotes is just funny as ****.
