Lay off Olsen, hes a redshirt freshman who just hasn't put it together yet mentally or on the field. If its motivation hes lacking right now, I doubt hes gonna transfer schools.

Let him develop here as a backup and who knows maybe he turns into something in a couple years. I'd much rather have him as a backup than crow.

Easley was a first round draft pick even after missing a lot of time due to injury. I'm not sayin McDermott is the best C in college but can't hate him for getting beat by a very very good player.

He's a serviceable C, do we have a better option? Probably. But he's got the experience which we will need since we're going to have an inexperienced QB at the helm.

People don't like answering that question, in light of their desire for Kaaya. True freshman almost never, ever, thrive--especially without benefit of Spring reps. It's almost unheard of. They may flash some of the future, but the case simply isn't there to expect 30/10/65% from Kaaya.

And that NEEDS to be ok. Because if he does win the battle this year, it is unfair to him and the coaches to expect a milestone year. It's going to be a grind, he's going to look clueless for stretches, and that shouldn't be held against him disproportionately.

this happens every year. they crown a recruit as the next coming. When said recruit gets here and fails to walk on water the first year, the player is then labeled a JAG or "he wasnt that good anyway". When that happens the cycle repeats itself because they begin hanging off the nuts of another 17 year old "savior". Kind of a sick cycle IMO. Really speaks to the kind of lives some people have. They live vicariously through the actions of 17 and 18 year old.
