Side Bar:

Does Golden have the Cojones to start a true freshman if he proves to be the clear cut best of the "eligible" bunch?

Follow-up:

Would you rather take your lumps this year with a true freshmen QB, and be set for the next 2-3 years, with highly ranked QB's coming after him?

Or play it safe and start Heaps until R.Will or Olsen are eligible to play.

You're asking this question like you don't know where you are.

Sure, folks around here are more than willing to think about the future in August...

...but when Kaaya throws that INT in the redzone on Sept. 1st...

Grace finna lockdown that weakside spot.

Where does that leave Kirby? Have to find a way to get Grace, Perryman and Kirby on field at same time.

At SAM I think to start they said, but I suspect he will end up in the middle and they will let DP do his thing.

Good to hear. The experts on this board said we don't play a SAM and if we do Kirby has no instincts to play the SAM, lol.

I could be wrong. I thought that's what I had read. Though I do think he's going to end up at Mike. Am not sold on Kirby's instincts either to be honest. Grace seems to have good instincts, speed, great coverage skills, he just lacks size.

Trayone Gray is here.

Yep. Its always the same sh8t. Then all the "experts" will come out screaming about how "stupid" Golden was for putting a true Frosh in, and how Kaaya isn't ready for the big time, and its too soon, and we need Heaps, etc....

You cant win. That's why Golden is going to go with the best combination of MATURITY, competence, ability to avoid mistakes, knowledge of playbook, and best rythym. Its not just going to be whoever has the "hot hand" in practice.

LOL, I forgot my audience. I just don't think you are getting any assurances with Heaps performing better considering his track record. I rather play for
Playoff appearances and BCS bowls in 2015 and beyond, as opposed to an 7 to 9 win season for 2014.

Put Kirby in the middle, Owens Strong Side, Grace Weakside, and just let DP free-lance ala Ed Reed and straight Murk people.

Take a page out of TCU's playbook and use our safeties as the rover.

In three-man DL front, Chickillo and Kalamu opposite DEs with Jenkins in the middle. Second-team: Pierre, Hamilton with Wyche.

Honestly that doesn't make me feel too good. When a True Frosh is already on the first team OL at RT, it means we have some serious depth issues there. Means neither Sunny nor Gadbois have impressed for sh*t. I know KC is supposed to be the goods, but very rarely is a true Frosh THAT good that he should be with the 1s on the first day of fall camp.

INterdasting. Been telling people since last year, DONT SLEEP ON JENKINS. Probably wont last, but this kid has made huge strides. Have a feeling he is going to be the hidden gem of that whole class.

When was the last time we had 5 solid QBs on our roster at the same time?

Except DP is like 245-250 right now. He's our biggest asset against the run in the entire LB corps right now. Who the **** has a 250 pound rover?
