Day 1 Practice Notes (GRAY HAS ARRIVED)

I am not a fan of these mid afternoon sessions. I like to have my praktiss rep0rts ready by lunchtime so I can sitdown with my scotch cotdamnit.

Holy **** Wyche is a MAN. No clue if he will do anything on the field or not, but I love having a kid like that in the program.

Folks can say whatever they want about the past with our program. This team, with these players look different then anything I've seen in a decade. The whole attitude of the program is different. I just don't see the leaders allowing the team to get beat down, college football should be on notice. The program was started with south florida guys leading the way, and again it is being led by south florida guys.

I certainly hope you're right, but this post could be pulled verbatim from last year's preseason practice reports. Just sayin'.

I don't think so. I don't remember the last time we actually had a roster with this many D-linemen who look ready to contribute. We've been young, thin, and weak at the position for years. Last year we were slightly better than the year before. This year we look a LOT better there. For a change we will have a lot of upperclassmen contributing. It is different than past years. Our D will roll out a LOT of upperclassmen with experience for the first time in a very long time.

how do we look a lot better on DL when we are counting on 2 guys who have never taken a snap at the D1 level to either start or at least play significant minutes at DT?

More talent, depth, strength and experience. Why would we not be much improved? People forget, back when we had really good D-lines, we were starting juniors and seniors. Some of them redshirt juniors and seniors. Experience and a 21 year old body is vastly different than an 18 year old with no experience. Mark my word, we will see a difference on the D-line this year.
