CS Ferman News on Kirkland

Maybe we already lost Thomas, and that's what made Al less forgiving of Denver's bullshyt games of not wanting to tell Barrow he was committed.

Probably not the case, but just an alternative thought.

Or, perhaps, they talked to Thomas and his family and axed them if we give Denver a deadline to commit because we can't get caught holding our dycks would that turn you off to UM and make you go somewhere else, and Thomas and family said, "No. I'm still coming to UM."

I just seriously doubt that Al flew off the handle here and did this without considering all of the possible repercussions. He's been too smart and calculating so far to think he'd just throw everything away because he got antsy with one guy.

I do think that is actually the case. I think we lost him and said **** it, especially if Ice and crew were telling UM all along that they'd get those kids.

Yep, they had to have figured the Thomas situation before doing this. My guess is Coley told them the real deal on these kids, and that they couldnt take what Harris was saying as truth. They figured Thomas was probably gone, and so they decided to force Kirkland's hand. When he balked we walked since we need DL more than another OL anyway, and its not going to matter with Thomas anyway.

The situation with Harris somehow has to get somewhat smoothed over, but I wonder if the staff knows that Harris is playing games too and have lost faith in him too, maybe that is why he is so hot.

Credit to you. I thought Thomas was a lock but you called this. I'm thinking the same thing with Harris. I think they may have thought he was full of it and said **** it, we don't care. We'll lose the 1 or 2 BTW kids every year and deal with it.

Man I hope Im wrong. I hope this is all just a big tiff over some bullsh*t. Believe me, I wanted Thomas BAD.. as much as anyone, but I just havent had a good feeling on the kid in a while. Still hope that maybe this will play out different, that maybe wants to stay home, but the way this has played out, I think its the proverbial writing on the wall, and Golden knew the score before he pulled the move.

That's how I feel too and I think the UM coaches might have gotten many assurances from Ice that Thomas was coming, and when he told them he wasn't, they felt like they got played.

If that's the case, that's seriously ******* ****** to do to Barrow and the coaching staff at UM.

For the record, there are far too many guys on UM's staff who know what they are doing and have been doing it well for years for this to just be a monumental ****-up on their part. I mean give me a scenario where UM has no other play than to take the PR hit 6 days before signing day and **** off an influential HS coach, that is entirely their fault. They know who Ice is. They know what's at stake with Thomas. They know there are BTW kids they'll want next year, and the next year etc.

this this this. these coaches are not ******* incompetent retards a la randy shannon. AG is not surprised by anything. he knows whats gonna happen before it happens. it really sucks to lose Kirkland no doubt but AG is not surprised and already has a plan in place for this ****. baleedat. I dont think this means **** wrt 6

There is some really pathetic, whiney overreactions going on here.

I wonder how many people freaking out in this thread were copy and pasting Warchant posts and laughing at Nole fans' meltdowns a week ago. Grow a sack.

Golden, Coley & Co. aren't pulling a scholly from a top prospect from a pipeline school without A) a good reason and B) knowing what they are doing.

Some of you need to take a few days off and tune in on Thursday to see how the 2013 class shakes out.

Good points all around on Coley's connection here.

Also, I highly doubt it's Brooks. You run this play the other way around, with the JuCo kid waiting for the last spot.

MAYBE not though. What if Bostwick said "no thanks coach, Im going to UF". They know Bryant is gone, so what does that leave? IF they think they NEED two DTs in this class, then that is what they NEED to take. YOu take the critical need spot, over saving it for an OL who you dont necessarily need right now, and is flaking on you anway.

bro we lost an elite talent in thomas to fsu again! we can even keep the best players in our backyard. im shocked that you guys arent concerned by this.

Lol ok

Kids are allowed to handle their recruitment however they want to. You shouldnt pull a kids offer this late

Seantrel Henderson was pretty ******* good last year. And, Henderson didn't really play games. I've heard that was a hard kid to deal with at UM but he took his visits, signed with USC, and then bolted when they got raped by the NCAA. Not much "games" during his recruitment.

Who's brooks?

Brooks IS here

I'm guessing the DL commit was Brooks.

come home son (and your sister Ibiz) - you are missed -

Neither one of us would ever in a zillion years consider going back to that place. Only thing we're bummed about is that we took too long to quit that ****. Too many f#cking snake-in-the-grass turncoat duplicitous four-flushers.

Shame, though, because there were some good guys there like you and a few others. Unfortunately, all the good guys got drowned out by the *****. LULZ at them actually bringing fugging Brady back.

respect - no brady ain't back - that mental case has legal issues - google his name - apparently he is being a Donald Trump without actually owning the property - classic

figueroa may be good but we dont pass up ELITE TALENT IN OUR BACKYARD TO GO AFTER TERRELL BROOKS

You can't pass up what wasn't coming in the first place.

Kirkland was coming. That's why you're seeing this reaction out of Ice. Kirkland was going to come, but was not being straight up with the coaches, they lost Thomas after tonight's in-home, and they said **** it, if you're not going to commit to us right now we have other kids who will.

Hard to reconcile those two statements.

But in this scenario the scholarship for Bostwick would just go to Brooks. It's more likely they decided the DT that wants to commit is the better choice than the OL that won't commit and is playing games.

Roster right now in Mr Seantrel Henderson.

Mr. Henderson makes Denver look like me in terms of talent. Mr Henderson also couldn't make up his mind about anything and is going into his senior year having done nothing.

I think the coaches flat out want to avoid the kids that take it too far with the game playing. If a guy like Kirkland doesn't know where he wants to go after all of his vists.....forget it. Kid has no shot at the mental grind of college football. History agrees.

so his offer was pulled because he didnt know where he wants to go as of today?

Kc McDermott next year... We're good

We have a much better guard prospect currently on this roster and his name is Danny Isadora. When Wisconsin comes all the way to south Florida to recruit an Offensive lineman that speaks volumes. Alabama was also after him.

Edit: This was a response to the topic not to McDermott.
