CS Ferman News on Kirkland

i love how u guys are fine with us letting an all american OL leave our backyard and taking on a kid like alex figueroa who didnt even D-1 offer nor played any type of ball last season. its remarkable the googles u guys have.

lets be realistic, we are not in the position right now with the jack** NCAA sh*t to be burning bridges with BTW
Let's talk in 2-3 yrs. agre on the btw

I got a phone call this afternoon saying that my Mom may have had a heart attack and was being taken by helicopter to one of the best heart hospitals in the midwest.

And that was only the second worst bit of info I received today.

Was the bad news that she was being taken to a great hospital?

i cant stand randy shannon. dislike him as head coach with a passion but if shannon did this we all would want to go egged his car right now. this is bs and i cant believe how u guys are okay with this. TERRELL BROOKS? what a joke.

My Google is amazing

What if MT6 told the coaches he wasn't coming and therefore we pulled both his and kirklands offer. Showing he was part of a double or nothing deal to BTW.

Can't believe we're going to lose Matthew thomas.

Maybe we already lost Thomas, and that's what made Al less forgiving of Denver's bullshyt games of not wanting to tell Barrow he was committed.

Probably not the case, but just an alternative thought.

Or, perhaps, they talked to Thomas and his family and axed them if we give Denver a deadline to commit because we can't get caught holding our dycks would that turn you off to UM and make you go somewhere else, and Thomas and family said, "No. I'm still coming to UM."

I just seriously doubt that Al flew off the handle here and did this without considering all of the possible repercussions. He's been too smart and calculating so far to think he'd just throw everything away because he got antsy with one guy.

I do think that is actually the case. I think we lost him and said **** it, especially if Ice and crew were telling UM all along that they'd get those kids.

Yep, they had to have figured the Thomas situation before doing this. My guess is Coley told them the real deal on these kids, and that they couldnt take what Harris was saying as truth. They figured Thomas was probably gone, and so they decided to force Kirkland's hand. When he balked we walked since we need DL more than another OL anyway, and its not going to matter with Thomas anyway.

The situation with Harris somehow has to get somewhat smoothed over, but I wonder if the staff knows that Harris is playing games too and have lost faith in him too, maybe that is why he is so hot.

Credit to you. I thought Thomas was a lock but you called this. I'm thinking the same thing with Harris. I think they may have thought he was full of it and said **** it, we don't care. We'll lose the 1 or 2 BTW kids every year and deal with it.

1. We are not fsu, we do not offer scrub friends
2. He is an all American offensive lineman

What guys need to keep in mind is this. Golden thinks sh*t through. They would have thought about how pulling Kirkland's ship would affect Thomas. If they thought it was such a delicate situation, I dont think they would have forced the issue.

I have felt for some time, and I think the signs have been there for a while, that something was up with Thomas. Im feeling more and more that Coley gave Golden a lot of insight into that situation, and that is why we have been talking to some other LBs since then. My guess is Coley probably knew Kirkland and Thomas, or at least THomas was FSU bound, and the staff decided they couldnt keep letting these kids jerk us around anymore on a slim chance that Tim Harris's promises would come through. Not without them at least telling the staff themselves if they were coming. Now, for Thomas, I think they will probably keep a ship open, but we need DL help in a big way, and if Kirkland was playing games, he was the first to get jettisoned, and if they did it, its probably because they feel the odds of Thomas coming were pretty slim.

So Im not looking at this as "we took Brooks and P*ssed away Thomas". If Golden cut Kirkland, they probably knew Thomas was gone anyway.
Because golden would just give up and not even try to recruit the best prospect in south Florida with a week left, ok

Who says they gave up? Like I said, they might keep the spot open for him, and Im sure they will keep hoping and trying for him, but if you have reliable info that the kid has committed elsewhere, and he WONT commit to you, then what would YOU do man? Come on, this isnt rocket science here. Golden has to do what is best for this team. He cant hold TWO spots open, for two kids who are possibly going to flake out, especially if you KNOW that the one you want the most is very likely already gone.

Dude, what the **** do you know? Seriously, calm down. The staff knows what the **** they are doing. If somebody thought Barrow was making a mistake, Cristobal or Golden would have smacked the **** out him.

They are not new to this ****. Let it go.

Agreed. The simplest explanation...

It's the same every year. The best players on our team are those that have never played a snap.

Just develop the players. The rest will take care of itself.

Look at this this and tell me if Figueroa had grades out of high school he wouldn't be on a major D-1 roster right now.

Good points all around on Coley's connection here.

Also, I highly doubt it's Brooks. You run this play the other way around, with the JuCo kid waiting for the last spot.

Wtf is going on?!?! I don't come on the board for a few hours and suddenly this thread went from 4 to nearly 40 pages!!! Something about Kirkland and Thomas going elsewhere, ice Harris hates us, everything is ****ed?!?!
