CS Ferman News on Kirkland

Interesting how everybody is killing Ice and Kirkland. It's as if UM is infallible and can do no wrong at all.

If this was your kid being treated this way I wonder how you all would feel then. Have some perspective.

UM offered Kirkland a scholarship, and he refused to commit. We have other kids who want that spot. We told him either commit, or we have to move on, he didnt. He made his choice.

Has it occurred to you that maybe this kid was just playing us? Or maybe Harris was jerking us around by making promises he couldnt keep, and we knew about it? There is more going on here than what Ice Harris said. Golden isnt stupid. They knew doing this could affect the Thomas situation. They had to know that doing this could cause a rift at BTW. They must have felt they were getting played. Barrow isnt a moron, he's been doing this for years here, and has relationships with all these people.

I am noticing that you are retarded. Do I get my cookie now or later?

im starting to notice that you're too dumb to realize that this class isnt shaping up to be a real good one.

Would you be ok with your kid holding a school hostage and being uncommital while causing them to hold off on contingency plans?

It works both ways. They didn't pull his scholarship mid season

Everyone's coming up with these deep conspiracy theories, but really it can be quite simple. They had a player (apparently a defensive lineman) who was willing to commit right now. They went to Kirkland and told him to commit now or else. He chose not to. Now he's gone, end of story.

I doubt Ice Harris invented a story about defensive lineman on the spot to trick Manny

Then why haven't we gotten a #welcometotheu tweet from Carroll?

Just as interesting as the posters killing the Miami staff. What is the more likely scenario? BTW recruits were playing games and the staff caught wind of it and ended it or Golden, Cristobal and Coley, two of them being the best and most well connected South Florida recruiters around, make the biggest blunder imaginable?

That tweet wouldn't come if a kid had a public announcement scheduled already.

Imagining it was your kid is the easiest way to lose perspective. Osama bin Laden's mama is probably still running around talmbout, "My baby is innocent, he was set up! It was them boys he was running with, I told him they weren't no good! My baby go to church!"

Looking at things from other point of views instead of your own can never be considered losing perspective. But I can tell by your username that perspective isn't something you're particularly familiar with.

So if Kirkland decided tomorrow that this is we're he wanted to be and told the coaches, they wouldn't take him if they wanted him badly?

Ice's comments read inflammatory and its fueling all of this.

If my kid I say now is your chance to make your dream come true. Now not later. Mia is saying so if you want act now. If you delay don't cry when the ship has sailed. Anything else is babying and creates a self intitled kid. Wonder why s fla is full of them. The coaches and parents encourage it.

Is that Hawaiicane I see brandishing a shotgun on San Amaro?

We need to get an OL commit pronto before he goes "Leonard Lawrence".

i love how u guys are fine with us letting an all american OL leave our backyard and taking on a kid like alex figueroa who didnt even D-1 offer nor played any type of ball last season. its remarkable the googles u guys have.

lets be realistic, we are not in the position right now with the jack** NCAA sh*t to be burning bridges with BTW

Look at this this and tell me if Figueroa had grades out of high school he wouldn't be on a major D-1 roster right now.
This.

Figueroa was a highly rated prospect. His terrible grades were the problem...

Then I'll to see which player and accompanying PR ****storm UM was willing to trade Kirkland for. Because it sure wasn't a 1 for 1 player trade when you consider the side effects of it.

There is no evidence whatsoever of the former. And with the current facts given, it suggests to the latter being true.

But the real truth probably lies somewhere in between.

Kirkland was coming. That's why you're seeing this reaction out of Ice. Kirkland was going to come, but was not being straight up with the coaches, they lost Thomas after tonight's in-home, and they said **** it, if you're not going to commit to us right now we have other kids who will.

Hard to reconcile those two statements.

Somewhat, the kid just might be being a kid and wanted to "talk things over" when deep down he knew he was going to UM. W/e though, this will never make much sense.

Kirkland got F8cked because of Ice Harris. That is how Im starting to think. Harris thought he could get us to hold Kirkland's spot until next week, by dangling Thomas at us. Once we knew that Thomas was gone, and that Harris COULDNT deliver, we lost faith in him, and we needed Kirkland to give us his word. When he didnt, we bailed, and Harris went ballistic because he knew his credibility was sh*t and by yanking Kirkland we basically told him so.

The question is, what do we do with Treon?

Kids are still local. Families are here. I think we can still get kids out of there. There will have to be some "smoothing over". As much as there may be some bad blood, I think there there can be some stroking back and forth to at least give us a fair shot at BTW. As Franchise just wrote, and Im going to second, Im not sold that Ice Harris has been really bending over backwards for us since Golden's been here. He was Shannon's buddy, but he went out with that regime. He may feel kinship to the U, but not necessarily Golden. So Im not sure Harris was going to be doing that much for us before this, especially if he couldnt deliver Thomas.

No evidence whatsoever except where Kirkland told Barrow we are only in his top 3 and he wouldn't commit. No evidence besides that you mean.

The irony in that statement is astounding.

And there is a huge gulf of difference between looking at something from someone else's perspective, and taking their side. I can understand why Harris and Kirkland are upset. But it's the facts that may or may not ever come out that will decide if they have a right to be. That's the difference you don't understand.

Exactly, he better be worth the fiasco
